Procuring a Legendary weapon is obviously a monumental undertaking. There is a tremendous amount of time and money that goes into obtaining even one of these highly coveted items. I’m just now getting to the point where I’m even beginning to consider pursuing a Legendary, but I’ve got a problem beyond the normal item and gold requirements…I’m an altoholic.

Understand that when I say I’m altoholic, I don’t mean I have several alts. What I’m actually saying is that I have several mains. And therein lies my problem; how does one choose which of his main characters is going to get a Legendary weapon?

“They can each have one,” I’ve caught myself thinking more than once. But realistically speaking, I’ll be doing good to get even one. So the notion that each of my characters will eventually be toting his own Legendary is pie in the sky.

For those of you with more than one main character and a desire to obtain a Legendary, how did you go about deciding to whom you gave it? Did you go with whatever Legendary you liked the most? Did you leave it to chance and just roll with the first precursor you obtained? Or did you play favorites? Shame on you if you did; you’re supposed to love all of your characters equally.

I rolled a Mesmer and happened to love using staff. Plus I think it the strongest weapon for Mesmer. I always ended up putting a staff on no matter what build I was using.

I also happened to think Bifrost looked pretty cool. ;D

So basically ask yourself .. is there one weapon you really enjoy using, or find yourself using a lot?

The whole point of legendary weapons is that they look cool — so go with whichever one you like the look of first. Keep in mind that there are some types of exotic weapons (Weapons of the Mists, Foefire Weapons, etc) that may not be legendaries but still have some really nice effects and have exactly the same stats. For example, I like the look of the greatsword Vision of the Mists better than Twilight and Sunrise. The fact that it takes several orders of magnitude less grinding to acquire is just icing on the cake.

The chest piece is from the CoE explorable tokens, not sure about the rest.

3? 1D4 and on a 4 reroll
4 ? roll a 1D4
5 ? 1D6 and on a 6 Reroll

as far as which legendary you can always solve that with a die roll too.

What I did was looking at all the weapons and made a shortlist. Then I looked at my alts and realised I have three alts that favor GS. (and all three gs’s are on my shortlist So im going the more painfull road of utlimatly creating Eternity. The final discussion im having with myself is wich alt is going to get the legendary weapon. But it very likely is my guardian just cause she is doing the most for it.

I have 1.5 legendaries, Sunrise and the shield (still in progress).

For Sunrise, I chose the greatsword because it’s my favorite weapon.
For the shield, it was a lucky drop at the forge. Even if I don’t normally play with the shield, I told myself “let’s learn to play with it, and go for the legendary”, so I bound the precursor to my guardian. Now I can’t step back, and I learnt to like playing with a shield.

As for the other precursors I got in the forge… I gave them to guildies ^^

Eterni……ARE YOU NUTS!!!!!!! that requires you to make 2 legendaries prior!!!!!

Don’t waste Sunrise and Twilight to make Eternity. It’s a botched weapon atm anyways and who knows if it will ever get fixed. Better off just switching between Twilight and Sunrise depending how you feel or give 1 each to an alt. I personally just went down the line. Ended up making Sunrise for my guard and Kudzu for my ranger. Debating atm of making Bifrost for my necro or making it or Twilight for my guard as well since I play him the majority anyways.

Contrary to everything Gary Gygax tought you, the world’s problems can’t all be solved with dice rolls.

Multiple characters competing for the same weapon is a problem I will never have. When I made my characters, I designed each to use a different weapon and playstyle; so no two characters use the same weapon type.

Depending on the look you’ve got for your necromancer, giving him/her Bifrost could look…odd.
