I have a MF armor set with my Mesmer and i do quite Well. Mesmers have good survival with Glass cannon equipment. Using a MF (that is similar, but with a lot less dps) equipment works just fine.

Recommended for solo play, obviously.

Necromancers have very good ability for tagging loot due to their wealth of AoE DoT skills (one of which is available regardless of what you he equipped) The reason the DoT component is useful is because each pulse can hit a different 5 enemies, thus tagging them.

Then there are the minions which, when they cooperate, are tagging targets without you having to spend time on them personally.

Necro, Elementalist, Engineer , simply because the AoE to tag the mobs with.

My opinion would be Ele & necromancer. Great AOE that doesn’t require targeting to hit.

An engineer could work using the bomb and grenade kits rather than the flamethower, but nec, 3 good sized AoE with scepter and dagger, and ele with constantly available AoE using the staff and changing attunements.

I have a necro friend who swears by the fact that he cannot get loot because his AoE’s don’t do enough damage to tag a mob before it dies.

I would say Guardian or Warrior is your best bet. I have farmed with 6 80’s and they were by far the easiest, both solo and in group.

My thief has had excellent farming success in the past using magic find gear. The key skill is the shortbow number 2 skill, the cluster bombs. If you move through mobs and blow up the cluster bombs just as you launch them, you can get a pretty rapid rate of explosive attacks going that does pretty good damage. Furthermore, you can put on some decent bleeding stacks on multiple targets, always helpful.
