Guild Wars 2

Hi guys, I was just wondering if there was a way to get a “hard copy” of the game as a backup to save having to redownload it all should i need to again at any point.
I’d prefer, obviously, to not have to buy the game again and would rather maybe pay like and extra bit to get a dvd copy of the original version to which i can download updates after.
Just as an fyi i ask this because my internet isn’t all that great and it takes like 3 to 4 nights to download the game as it is atm.

The hardcopy I got is only 45%-ish off the game. that is the only kind off hardcopy there is. There is however a way off back-upping.

1: go to c:/program files/Guildwars2
2: copy the gw2.dat file to a an external storage device (e.g. an usb-stick big enough or an external hard drive). make sure you got the right formation off the drive to handle files as big like this.
3: Renew this backup every often.

When you need to reinstall, download the client again(goes quick) and start installing. When it starts downloading the big massive files, just close the client. And replace the newly made gw.dat with the one in the backup. Then start the game client again. If doen correct it goes checking the file and getting the updates not included i nthat back-up but thats all.

You’re a star! Thankyou very much, this is a better solution than my dvd suggestion! I have a Seperate hard drive for storage so i’ll keep a regular backup there.

Microsoft has a program called SyncToy that I use on all my MMOs and Steam to insure I don’t have to go through 24 hours of downloads at 3Mb/s by backing it up to an external USB drive.
