Hi , i’m i new player trying to join on my friends in desolation server..
i’ve seriously stayed up 24hours to see when the server will be available for transfer and it didn’t ! only desolation and baruch bay stayed full…
please advice , i’m disappointed i cant play with my friends in wvw

there is only one thing you can do , try again and again, im pretty sure that over the weekend its always full, everyone play until late night, you should try today or someother day during the week in the middel of the night when most ppl sleep because they have work next day and hope its not full

oh i didnt sleep all night and cant really keep up another day , this sucks

Servers become full because they have too many players in comparison to other servers. The intent isn’t to prevent people from playing with their friends. But if everyone just keeps piling on the same few servers then those servers would always have a huge competitive advantage over the other servers. The line has to be drawn somewhere. The best solution to play together is for everyone to meet on a lower tier server.

And full status is based on WvW population and is not updated on a day to day basis. So staying up for 24 hours to keep an eye on it isn’t going to make a difference most likely.

And it’s not based at all on population that’s currently online either.

Server populations aren’t based on the number of people currently logged in, so checking at different times of the day is unlikely to make a difference.

Ever since the mega-server update which made your server largely irrelevant for PvE and PvP the population is determined entirely by the number of accounts with that server set as their home who ‘actively’ play WvW. I’m not sure how they determine who is an active WvW player (it is not based on whether they’re currently in a WvW map) but I do know the result of this is that any changes in population happen gradually over time, not at brief random times or when the number of people logged on is low in general.

You’re much better off picking a different server and playing with your friends in PvE or trying to persuade them to transfer than waiting up all night for a change that’s unlikely to happen.
