Hi,
I need the gift of exploration to make a legendary. Can anyone tell me if I need to 100% dry top to get the gift or does it not count since its a new map?

It doesn’t count. Neither dry top nor Southsun cove, both of which were added after launch count towards 100% map completion. If you check, those maps don’t have a % completion shown like the original maps do.
