Guild Wars 2

k so me and my dad once played guild wars 1. we played on it a lot but that was long before he realized that gw2 was released 4 years ago (we just started playing it in late 2016) and apparently he at one time got the fiery dragon sword (he kept referring to it as rurik’s sword though because he wouldn’t even bother looking into the lore of it but then he also wouldn’t look into is guild wars guidebook for the original game without the additional stuff). I tried looking up how it was possible for him to get the sword without even touching the maguma wilds, the south of kryta, the south of the shiverpeaks, and the desert and without touching all the downloadable versions it kept saying it wasn’t possible (And I am not kidding for the fact of that he tried to get through Lornar’s Pass and he couldn’t even make it halfway with a team of 4 fully leveled up 20 guys plus the mernaries). So please tell me how it is possible he got the sword.

Well, the wiki information is added by players. In addition, new edits wipe out old edits. I can think of some possibilities of how he got it.
1) wiki isn’t correct about where it drops
2) it used to drop somewhere besides the stated spots, was later updated and the old drop site info was lost
Last but not least
3) it dropped off site because of a bug

He could have bought it from someone and forgot.

no he didn’t buy off of someone he would have remembered he only told me that he got it off of a random drop.

Can you post a screenshot of the sword he got? If he doesn’t have it anymore, maybe he is misremembering. Or did he maybe has it in GW2, via the HoM rewards after linking his accounts.

You posted on the GW2 forum but it sounds like you’re talking about having the sword in GW1? Or you think having the sword in GW1 somehow earns it for you in GW2? Because it doesn’t.

The sword in GW1 is a random drop from a bunch of different mobs from various campaigns. In GW2, it’s a Hall of Monuments reward for GW1 achievements (not realted to having the sword at all in GW1).

Lonar’s Pass counts as Southern Shiverpeaks. FDS can drop in the Southern Shiverpeaks.

You say he got to Lornar’s Pass. Did he get there by going through Dreadnought’s Drift? Thats Southern Shiverpeaks and has a portal to Lornar’s. He could have gotten it as a drop there if he did.

okay it may be a bug but he never explored the southern shiverpeaks, eh just atempted to go through lornar’s pass 100 different times before i decided to help him. the farthest he has gotten in the game is the desert and right now he has getting back on his account

Did I stutter? Lonar’s Pass is a Southern Shiverpeaks zone. The Avicara Tengu can drop FDS. He didn’t need to go through Dreadnought’s Drift as Beacon’s Perch is directly connected to Lonar’s Pass. Again if it wasn’t clear, Lonar’s Pass may be in the Northern Shiverpeaks on the world map but it’s mobs can drop FDS because they are Southern Shiverpeaks mobs.
