healer class?
Your probably looking at a guardian or an elementalist, but any class can play support really. Just some fit the idea a bit better.
There is no dedicated healer class. All classes contribute both damage and support. You may like guardian I guess. Try that.
League Of Ascending Immortals [OATH]
cool i was looking at the two and thought it might be one of them thanx x)
There is no “healer” class; there is only “light”, “medium”, and “heavy”.
There are also no roles. Everyone just hits the enemies at once and heal themselves.
You’ll probably enjoy Elementalist over Guardian if you really want to “heal support”. Guardian is more of a buffing support, where Elementalist has a lot more straight healing potential.
Both specced as support are pretty good, actually, despite what some may say along the way.
OP: check out this guy…Wooden Potatoes. Great and entertaining videos.
Ele in water attunement using a staff with stacked healing can output a fairly large amount of health. Each auto attack heals for over 600. Add on a couple of blasted water fields and healing water elemental for more fun ^.^

Both can also just roll around the floor to heal people :p
Fun trivia, GW2 broke down the Holy Trinity of tank/dps/healer!
See it here:

Such chuckles when I realized!
:D
OP, GW2 have a totally different version of support compare to other MMO. A lot of person try to do a healer (including myself) and gonna fail miserably.
In PvE, this is really not a good idea. You may be able to out heal yourself, but you won’t be doing any dmg while doing that. If you are in a group, you won’t be able to outheal the incoming dmg to your group.
In PvE, the support you want to bring is damage mitigation and the guardian is the best at that. Blind and Aegis will protect your team from incoming big hit from enemies. Reflect will protect them from projectile. Protection will decrease incoming dmg by 33%. All good guardian build in PvE are build around that. You also have offensive support or buff. The Warrior, Elementalist and Ranger do it best. They can bring might, fury or some strait damage modifier for the whole group.
Still if healing is not a big part of PvE, its important in pvp. In sPvP, guardian and engineer can make good bunker that’s gonna heal themselve like crazy to stay alive and constest their node. Elementalist D/D also have crazy amount of healing to stay alive.
In WvW, the main source of healing is a water field dropped by a Staff Elementalist and blasted by Warrior and Guardian while regrouping.
Keep in mind that in many cases, you will be berated by other players for running a heavy healing build for a variety of reasons:
- Very few (if any) encounters require tons of healing be generated (the game was designed this way).
- Any intelligent player will bring sufficient healing or damage mitigation to survive by themselves (per # 1, someone else healing them is NOT needed).
- Any player that specs heavily into Healing must be compromising other areas (DPS or Defense / Support).
The game is designed to reward DPS (good or not) so providing an unnecessary service to others while NOT contributing as much as possible to the common goal (DPS the enemy) is not going to garner any appreciation. Sad but true.
I’m not saying it’s useless or not helpful to some, but be prepared to hear some criticism for playing in that manner. Note that per above, there ARE reasonable hybrid builds (mostly Ele and Guardian) that can put out respectable DPS while being able to provide modest (if not significant in the case of the Ele) healing and damage mitigation to those nearby.
Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances

Protection is nice but weakness is too.
Actual effectiveness would depend on enemy crit rate and crit damage.
Well, a cleric guardian might be what you’re looking for.
