help me with profession
shattercat mes if you don’t mind sucky early levels.
Guardian is great, in PvE just spec more toward damage,
I recommend the Guardian.
Run around with a Greatsword and Staff. Equip gear with Power and Vitality/Toughness.
For heals, either Signet of Resolve or Shelter works; the former heals for much more, the latter is great for escapes.
For Utilities, Hold the Line!, Stand Your Ground!, Wall of Reflection and Save Yourselves are staples.
Before 60, trait into Radiance for Renewed Focus and the rest into Virtues.
Craft skills aren’t important unless it benefits you in getting your Legendary Weapon(s) of choice much later on. If you feel like an equipment upgrade, simply buy at-level Fine or Masterwork equipment from the Trading Post.
so far ojimaru has given me the best reaction. So a guardian what GS, do guardians (even with a GS) do good damage on lower levels?
Any greatsword with Power bonus will do. Damage isn’t an issue.
Spend the first 5 trait points into Virtues for Inspired Virtues. Once you do, activate Virtue of Justice every cooldown for the free Might stacks. Things get way more fun when you gain access to Renewed Focus (level 40+), since it refreshed Virtue of Justice after every kill, allowing for more Might stacking.
alright. 1 last question though. Whats the diffrence between Vitality and Toughness (and yes i know Vit gives u extra health)
I went through quite an ordeal trying to find Renewed Focus and then figuring out how it refreshed Virtue of Justice…
Just to be clear, it’s the Master Minor Trait called Renewed Justice.

Vitality Increases Your Health, Its Best UsedAgainst Condition.Builds As You Can Last Longer. Toughness Increasesyour Armor Rating And Thay Decreases The Max Damage, Thats Best UsedAgainst Bursty Classes.

Guardian is great in all game modes, and isn’t very hard to play. There is a guardian in every pvp team, they are invaluable in wvw groups, and top-tier in PvE (with warrior) as well.
Mesmers also have a lot of options, and can be very easy with phantasm specs (all you do is survive and let phantasms do most of the damage). I haven’t found lower levels on my Mesmer (staff kicks tail) to be too hard either, as you have so many little tanks in front of you, and mesmers are also always welcome in dungeons..
Rangers are very easy in PvE as you have a little tank for you, but don’t kill as quickly as the other two options. They are also not as great in dungeons. They are VERY mobile however with their short cooldown leaps (if speed matters to you). They are good roamers in WvW, and most pvp teams have a bunker ranger. They do require a little more micromanaging with the pet, but nothing too hard.
If none of those play-styles suit you, I would then suggest ele. They are harder to pick up for begginers, but a blast to play as D/D as you get to zip back and forth. They are hard at lower levels, and take a while killing things.
TLDR: Guardians are top tier in every game-mode, and not super-hard or complex.
Also a tip for Guardians:
Toughness is more beneficial than Vitality*. Why do I say this? Because the majority of your skills heal you and/or apply some sort of heal/mitigation. If you have a low health pool, but heal for 500, that 500 heal is “more” than when you have a high health pool.
*: Vitality is still better against Conditions, so be careful.
With that in mind, you can use Healing Power and Toughness to become a “tank” of sorts. The reason why I put tank in quotes is because, in GW2, the aggro system is extremely awkward for a reason. The holy trinity is not supposed to include tank, and if you look at a build like that in the holy trinity, it actually fulfills 2 prongs, the tank and the healer. With that same mentality, if you port to the GW2 trinity, the Support/Control/Damage trinity, most classes are capable of building/playing into 2 of those prongs, as well.
Ranger, mesmer, guardian are all good dps and decent in pvp without being impossible to play.
Wich is a bit weird if u ask me, cause in most MMORPG’s (mages) they do alot of damage even early game

ok so i noticed that i take alot of damage with a handed. Will i take alot less damage if i start wearing a 1 handed + shield? Or do i just need to get adjusted to my skill set?
Cause i heard Guardians should be very hard to take down
Mesmer
It has an incredible skill cap, at the lower levels you may feel weak, but once you start to undertand what you can do with a mesmer youll feel invincible, especially in pvp.
At one point you can go full berserker and still take on 5 people, some day…
I highly recommend power based ear because conditions are rather pointless nowadays.
A glasscannon mesmer may be harder to take down than a full bunker guardian, and the glass cannon mesmer can still pull off impressice burst damage.
Mesmer has the second highest mobilty of all professions, so that already makes it feel more action oriented (especially in pvp).
Mesmers are very usefull in a party, even when specced completely for damage. You can simply swap out some utilities for glamours and gain reflection/condi removal skills.
If you want to see what an experienced mesmer looks like when fighting multiple people at a time, theres some videos in my signature link below.
