Guild Wars 2

I get my holographic dragon wings cover from a holographic monster drop (very lucky:)) but i dont know if use it then allow me to upgrade the back to ascended or infusion version.
For exemple if i use it on a fractal capacitor exo then can i upgrade it to ascended with the normal recipe gift+globs+mist essence?
Same from ascended to infuded (+5ar)?

Ps: its changes the backpiece name and picture icon?
So its more like a trasmutation or a simple dye?
Cause i never use cover of wintersday or fused for weapons so i dont know how they work

At least someone can tell me his/her experience with toy skin of wintersday so i can get an idea about this cover?

If you upgrade you will lose the skin. If you want to keep it then you should upgrade first then apply the cover.

First upgrade the back piece to ascended, then use the skin. If you use the skin first, then when you upgrade to ascended it will destroy the skin.
