Guild Wars 2

I have bought my axes, scythes (reapers), and mining axes. But, I go to equip them and it wont let me. Can someone please give me some hints.

Also, the more I read forums, the more questions I have. First time mmorpg. First time with a complex computer game.

when you pick up an item, say, off a kill, what does it mean if its consumable, a trophy, etc…… If I double click the consumable does it just nourish me for a time?

What does it mean to be soulbound or account bound? How do I access the bank, I read a forum on it, tried it and got totally lost.
I know its a lot. if someone just answers some and someone else answers some it would be a lot of help. Its frustrating when people in the game wont help with questions.

Is the axe, sickle or pick your level? Are you in combat? Those two things will prevent equipping them.

Consumable means that if you click it twice it does something and disappears. Food nourishes you, some other thing do other stuff. Don’t be afraid to experiment.

Soulbound means onlt that particular character can use the item, no-one else. Account bound means that all your characters can use it, no-one else.

To equip those right click on them and select equip.

Account bound means you can use it on all your characters.
Soul bound means it’s only for one character.

Consumable already says it.
Trophies are just vendor trash.

There is a bank in each main city where you have to look for the bank icon which basically is a yellow circle with a brown bag in it.

To answer your questions:

1/ Press H for Hero menu. On the right of your character image you see some stats boxes, below that is the area for your trinkets, and then there are 3 boxes for your gathering tools. You can double click or click and drag the items to the relevant boxes.

2/ Consumable is a one-time usage, usually a timed ‘buff’ which gives extra experience points, healing or similar. These should state their function and time they last for if you hover over them with the mouse. Other consumables offer services such as Transmutation Stones which allows you to combine 2 items to customise them as you like them. A trophy is just that, it has no game function and can be sold at a merchant (marked by a stack of coins on the map).

3/ Soulbound means that it is bound to that character. Some items are soulbound on acquire (such as story mission rewards), others are soulbound on use, and there should be a warning box to ask if you want to bind it. If soulbound, it cannot be transferred or sold.

Accountbound means that it can not be sold, but can be transferred between characters (alts) on the same game account.

The bank, you find it by its yellow icon (usually in safezones), walk to it and press F or doubleclick the bank NPC character. You can transfer items, including accountbound, from one character to another using the bank.

About Trophies one more thing: Some of them say ‘salvagable’. You can buy a salvage kit from the merchats. Salvaging an item gives you raw material(s), which you can either store (deposit all collectables from your inventory menu) or sell for coin at the Trading Post (left click on the item in your inventory and pick ‘sell at the trading post’).
