The 20% mf infusion is a Utility infusion, which requires a Utility infusion slot, and rings don’t have that slot only amulets. (you can read more about this here)
You get 5 AR (agony resistance) if the item lists that you get it, if it doesn’t – you don’t.
Ascended is a rarity (color) of items, like exotics, rare, blues etc…
You can infuse an ascended ring in the mystic forge to get an infused version of that ring, which has an inherent 5 AR. You can read about this here (under the table)

Okey, thnx for the info understand it alot more now. One last thing, so if i put a offensive infusion in a offensive infusion slot of a ring like +4 power you get automaticly + 5 agony? If not then why not always do the + 5 agony from fractals in it because +4 of a stat is very low?

Like I said you only get +5 AR if it is actually written in the description.

If not then why not always do the + 5 agony from fractals in it because +4 of a stat is very low?

That, my friend, is an excellent question….
I’d guess that the infusions that have +5 AR are intended only for people who actually play in fractals of the mists. That’s why the infusions sold by the laurel merchant don’t have 5 AR, though that rendered them pretty much useless…

Also take into account you can craft infusions that have both though they are pricy.

By both I presume you mean 5 AR and the 5 of some stat. But the 5 stat points are pretty pathetic, especially for their insane price. If you want the AR your’re better off getting the Versatile Simple Infusion IMO.

Does anyone know if you can upgrade a utility infusion (Example: Gf, MF, Karma, etc) to also have the +5 agony resistance? I know this would be quite OP. I’m guess you need to choose a utility (Gf, MF, etc) or Omni (Agony Resist from factual vendor, or rare versions which has Agony + stat) to put into your utility amulet correct?

if you ever could, it would probably include 50 ectos and 40 Crystals in the recipe

while we’re at this.. trying to understand a bit more about ascended, infusions, etc..

so if i infuse a, say ascended ring, the newly infused ring will be the same, but with an inherent +5 agony resistance. and an empty infusion slot?

so can i slot in another infusion, for e.g. a versatile mighty infusion, into the infused ring? i.e. the end result would be the ring +5 power, +10 AR?

and i know that everytime you infuse a ring / ascended item, you’ll lose any existing infusions. so if one were to plan to upgrade any given ascended item, they should always only slot in the infusions AFTER reaching the final most upgrade version?

lol sorry for all the questions. and thanks in advance

Yes, as for slotting before infusion or not, well can take quite a lot of time to get the vials/globs/shards of condesnced mist essence, so you may have to slot before you infuse to get the AR you actually need for the moment
