how to get ap when u cap dailies?
Step 1 – Stop worrying about AP (or titles!)
Step 2 – Do stuff you enjoy in game. AP etc will come.
Step 3 – By the time you have capped dailies you’ll have 10K AP! (and if you manage to cap monthlies as well you’ll have 15K + any others you pick up)
Step 4 – Problem solved go home and have a beer!

There’s always new way to get AP, just gotta try other things. You do the tradesman, world bosses, JP achievements yet? That’s an easy 1k AP right there. Belcher’s bluff, Southsun survival, other activities.. probably like 200 AP each if you plan to max them out. The story ones aren’t hard either, use a guide like one Dulfy has if you are having trouble (I did most of them solo pretty easily).
Also, you should maybe stop making these kind of ‘exaggerated’ posts… lol. You always make it sound like you have all this AP, but last time I was in your group I saw you only had 4k… probably be a few years at least before you manage to cap dailies XD. Just have fun and don’t worry about it too much.

I’ve got more AP in dailies than he does overall and I’m not worried about maxing them for another two years. By then they will probably have raised the cap.
By the time you’ve maxed out on daily AP, you’ll either
- have been here long enough that most static AP are not a challenge for you anymore (including festival and living story achievements, activities, you’ll be rich enough to outright buy collection items and minis, you’ll have maxed your crafting, you’ll have weapon mastery / slayer and personal story achievements…)
or
- have long lost interest in GW2 and moved on to some other game.
I have 16k AP and I am FAR from reaching the daily/monthly limits, and I’ve played since release.

Who are you i never been in a group with you? and i definitely have a lot more than 4k ap.
do the math. even if you take a fresh account and do 12 dailies a day it will take you about 2 years and 8 months to get to 10k daily ap cap. so regardless of how long u been playing it doesnt take long to hit the cap.
If you’re struggling to do Living World content for achievement points, look up guides for them on dulfy.net. Using the lfg feature in The Silverwastes is also really beneficial as you’ll find other like-minded people trying to get the achievements.
Speaking of dulfy.net , there’s a pretty large guide for achievements and achievement point hunting.
If you’re Achievement/Title Hunting, enter PvP or WvW. There’s plenty of achievement points to be obtained there and they take some time to obtain. Those are definitely long-term goals.
Also, Redxon, don’t worry about hitting daily/monthly cap. Worry about that bridge when you come to it. That’s a total of 15k AP right there, and if Nagr is right and you have a bit more than 4k, you won’t have to worry about it for a while. No point stressing yourself out about something that’s not that important and that’s so far away.
Achievement points don’t really mean much anyway. If you have high AP you won’t get treated any differently to somebody with low AP. The AP chests don’t reward much and the account wide stat boosts are virtually negligible. If you want fast AP because a lot of dungeon parties are looking for higher AP than what you have, just start your own dungeon group without the requirements and you’ll get people to join your group.
For me, AP is just something to focus on to play the game- it’s nice to feel completion by checking off new achievements from the LS and it gives a nice sense of direction.

Like I said, if after 2 years and 8 months you still think that the permanent achievements are too hard, then you’re probably really not into GW2 and have long wandered off.
Besides, there’s no way to do the dailies without ALSO getting AP in other, permanent achievements – daily kills leads to weapon mastery and slayer achievements, daily recycler leads to Agent of Entropy, WvW and PvP achievements will fill up slowly but steadily, daily activities come with their own achievements you get just by doing them, same for jumping puzzles…

They are always adding new ways of gaining AP. The living story episodes are one way, but you can also get AP form seasonal events like the Blood and Madness and the general Halloween events.
If you’re having trouble with the LS achievements, you could ask a friend for help or create a group using the LFG tool.

Ok.. so almost 5k ap then. I was in a Arah group with you once, but don’t know if you remember me. It’s still at least 2 years before you max out dailies, even if you do 12 dailies a day which I would say is unrealistic. I try to make a goal for 8 dailies but most days I don’t even get that. I would be surprised if you could do 12 dailies every day till the cap… but then I don’t think it’s worth it.

Unless you reached the cap or is close to, not worth to worry about, it is a long way before it happens.
I’ve skipped a few dailies and hardly do all 12, usually stick with the minimum. I’ve been playing for almost 2 years and got 5,280 achievement points from daily. At that pace, will take me another 2 years to reach the cap…
Not worried about it. AP only gives me nice shinies, chests, and that’s all. Besides that, only gives an idea to others that I’ve been playing this game for more than 1 year at least, which honestly, means nothing.

Major evaluation of WHY some players are playing should be made if your main goal in this game is more AP or a Precursor…..

By the time you have maxed out your dailies, I imagine you’ll be an experienced/skilled enough player that you can complete the Living Story achievements with relative ease. If they’re giving you trouble now, you may not have sufficient gear (Exotics and above) and a wide enough range of skills/weapons/traits to use the right build for the right situation. Once you’ve unlocked the Living Story, you can come back and re-try the achievements at any time, so don’t stress too much about getting them done now.
JPs give a nice chunk. Exploration gives an even larger chunk (will need a char of each race to complete this one I believe). Slayer is an obvious one to crank out some AP.
PvP and WvW can yield nice AP for the earlier tiers. Eventually in WvW the requirements become stupid.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

Dont ask what you can do for AP..Ask what AP can do for YOU
Step 1 – Stop worrying about AP (or titles!)
Step 2 – Do stuff you enjoy in game. AP etc will come.
Maybe accumulating AP and titles is what some people enjoy about this game. Some people want the most kills. Some want the highest sPvP rank. Some want the fastest dungeon run time. Still others want every single legendary.
Some folks just like to collect achievement points. Play the game like you want to play it and how you have fun, but never assume everyone has fun the same way. Many companies recognize this, for example Sony with trophies, Microsoft with Achievement Score, Steam with badges, etc.
@OP: Fortunately, Anet is always releasing new content via the Living Story, Holiday Events, etc. that always have corresponding achievements that are associated with them. Also, if you’re up to trying GW1, there are things that you can do in that game that will lead to more AP in GW2 via the Hall of Monuments. Maxing that AP line though will require a significant time investment. Good luck!

Actually, one of my goals in this game is to get 1 title that our guild leader doesn’t have and wear it just because he can’t (he’s currently ranked 150th on the leaderboards)
But I totally agree on the AP part and titles in general.
All AP’s are are loot. And not even good loot. In terms of gold/time, it’s probably around 10c/hour. hmmmm, now I want to do that math :P I’ll get back to you on that.

Gotta add that if you are calculating loot / hour on activities, you might want to re-evaluate playing as well.
I think that’s called an hourly job, not a game….

Well, I did the math. I went with 17,000 AP and 3,500 hours
after 17,000 AP, you’ll have 1 × 100AP Achivement Chest + 14 x Achievement Chests + 14 x Large Achievement Chests + 3 Heavy Achievement Chests + 3 Massive Achievement Chests
Totals:
66 Gold
330 Mystic Forge Stones
6,600 Badges of Honor
447,000 Karma
66 Blueprints
60 Random Daily rewards (T charge, booster, key, revive orb, bank access, BLSK, etc)
65 Boosters
1 Revive Orb
1 Repair Canister
3 level-20 scrolls
3 total makeover kits
20 Boxes-o’-Fun
I used these conversion rates:
42s45c per Forge Stone (their value from making Mystic Salvage Kit instead of using master)
33.3c per badge (buy flame ram blueprints for 6 badges and sell for 2s)
10s per 1000 karma (similar to buying linen armor, forging, salvaging)
5s per blueprint
5g46s69c per Random Daily (wiki says 3.2% of BLSK, 2.9% of MFS, 0.3% of BLCK, but these are likely low, as the wiki also says 73.3% of nothing, and I think the ach chests don’t give nothing, so I tripled the total value. Without tripling, the total would of been 373g – almost 40% less. BLSK = 2g per charge, MFS = 42s45c, BLCK = 6g)
The rest I value at 0. boosters can be profitable, but it’s hard to quantify.
So, that gives us 569g in 3,500 hours = 16s27c per hour
