hello i havent played like half a year and i want to join again i have a lvl 80 thief and i like it very much but i dont know if i want to go through with it is it still good or viable or is it better to take a mesmer or elemantelist i cant choose between those 3 if someone can help me i would be really happy

Good for what? What parts of the GW2 are you interested in? (general PvE, PvP, fractals, WvW?) Have you bought HoT expansion?

i bought hot ye and i wanna do dungeons fractals and wvw i dont do that much pvp

You have at least 5 character slots, so why not make each of those to try them out? Everyone has different preferences, so what anyone else recommends may not fit your style.

Of those three, personally I prefer Thief with Elementalist a close second. Mesmer rank among my least favorite — but that’s just me.

Try them out, having more then one character is not a bad thing, you are able to adjust to any situation and can pick the flavor of the day that you want to play.

What you should pick is hard to say and noone can really tell, like Dean above said he don’t like mesmers, whilst for me it my third most played character and i have all classes and also several of each (yes i am a altoholic)

Make use of your slots and try it. Although remember that your class is never as good as it will be at lvl 80 when you have all your traits and gear and elitespec. But you will get a clue when trying them out and can go from there

I find on diff days I like differnt play styles. Regardless of what some may say all types can be suited for all areas of game play. I say have a few and have fun, if you don’t feel it one day,m you might the next.

It really comes down to personal preference. I really like mesmer, as they bring a lot of utility to the fight. With time warp, blink, reflects, portals, clones, they are like a swiss army knife. My biggest gripe with mesmer is the fact that they have very limited ways of gaining swiftness, unlike every other class. (Revenant, I am looking at you:) )

I don’t have much experience with thief, and to be honest, I am pretty bad with both thief and elementalist, as these are the high damage, high risk classes, I spend more time kissing the dirt than fighting the monsters.

I have a character of every class at level 80, so yes I am also an alt-oholic.
