will the game make me a lvl 80 so i can map the zone or will i be stuck at 24?

you will be lvl 24 in a lvl 80 zone.

this was done by a guy about 5 months ago he went from lvl 1 (never accepted first exp reward) and ran directly to Orr avoiding every WP
=P

If your level 24 and go into frost gorge you will still be level 24 and mor than likely get stomped even if it is easy to run to the Earthshake Waypoint for Claw of Jormag.

because the fact that you are still lvl24 in a lvl25 area didn’t tip you off…

Seriously, answers to most of his questions could be find in the wiki without spending much effort.

Can’t play warrior well? There’s a warrior sub forum for that.

Want to know if a skin looks good? Why not just go and preview it yourself?

And why oh god why do you have to make two threads on hammers when you can just focus your questions in one?

The question may seem silly, but there is a reason why one might wonder about it. PvP and WvW lift your level up to 80. Lost Shore event time (maybe evn after) Southsun Cove did the same.

In general though, your effective level is never higher than your real one, but it can be lower.

Basically the way it works.

In PvE areas if you go to a lower level area you’re downleveled to the level of the area you’re in. However, your maximun level is your character level, so if you go to a higher level area you will not be upleveled.

In sPvP you get upleveled to 80 if you’re not already, all skills and weapons are unlocked for you to use and given equalized PvP gear.

In WvW (and I think fractals as well) you get upleveled to 80 but your gear, skills and weapons unlocked remain the same than in PvE.
