is this normal in WvWvW?
I guess it depends on the actual population of your server, what kind of server it might be (diff timezone, RP-oriented, etc) and where the action was (i.e. the big zerg was in another battleground). although I believe there’s a player cap for the WvW zones because sometimes when you join it will say it’s full and queue you like in LA overflow, however I don’t know what the cap actually is.
personally I’m terrible at counting just by looking but I would estimate that I’ve seen bigger then 20 per side in a WvW battle
The average zerg size is anywhere between 25-40 people. No one runs in bigger groups because the lag would kill you.
Also, everyone will be distracted by the shiney wintersday stuff.
I wouldn’t expect a decent WvW showing until january.
large fights are terribad (150+ players in one keep). even if you have good computer/connection. the server cannot handle them. invisible armies, skills lagging (press skill and it does nothing, i mean it doesn’t even start, annoying when that happens on heal). most common place for these lags is garrison on peak times. tho it probably applies only to top wvw tiers
If i remember correctly max cap is 500 players for all sides in one battleground. So 2000 players in total. This cap is shared by all three servers.
3*500=2000, that’s new
new mathematics laws?
probably you mean 1500
Someone say game crash must be related to OOM
when you read the log it’s not related to that whatsoever…
maybe he did include the eternal battle grounds 4 * 500?
Lol my bad, tired after a long day, and forgot the ethenal.
Edit,I thought he meant 3 teams*500 max players for each border

It greatly depends on which server you are playing in, at what time, in which Borderland, against which other servers, at which tower, etc etc etc.
You could have been playing at 2000 EST in your home Borderlands, what’s already fully dominated by your server, against another server that has a “primetime” of 0800 EST.
Or, you could have been in an enemy Borderland defending some tower against a small group of defenders, while in actuality the majority of the all three forces were in the Eternal Battlegrounds duking it out in a three-way, no-holds barred, cage match of epic proportions, fit with hotdog merchants and scantily-clad quaggan ring-side ladies.
