I’m working on building ascended weapons, just to be safe, I would like to get 100k karma to beable to purchase all the necessary components. my only problem is how do you guys get it? events give me like 300 per and this would take forever… is there any way to get karma quickly or even just ascended weapons (sword, shield, staff) quickly?

tequatl for karma, collections for shields and staves.

Certain dailies (the Vista viewer ones, I believe) give you vials of karma, so do dailies that drop those. Do Tequatl when you can. Do event trains in Cursed Shore. Do Fractals. Higher level fractals also have a semi-decent chance of getting you ascended gear as drops.

And yeah, if you have HoT, you can get an ascended weapon for each new elite spec by doing the collection achievements connected to each one.

Since you’ll need zone currency for them, you’ll end up doing a lot of zone events, which also reward Karma. So this ends up being pretty win-win. The only issue here is the need for HoT Masteries.

Tequatl gives more Karma than ANY other 15 minute period in the game.

Fully completing Tequatl once a day gives you 13000 karma from karma bottles, plus a minimum of 2177 Karma from event rewards. Higher-level characters and reward boosts can dramatically increase the Karma awarded. If you opt to do Teq again on the same day, you lose out on 1500 bottled karma and 1 event reward (133 karma base reward) for repeat events.

Also, Tequatl has a chance to drop ascended weapon chests, including a unique ascended set that only he can drop (only 1 chance each day of ascended drops, and it’s really rare).

Of course the WvW K train, a few hours in a good Zerg in Edge of the Mists will net you 100k I do all my Karma Farming there.
Yes the rewards are on 100/300 but it’s a continuous stream of karma coming in.

Try karma boosters also, this will help a lot.

There used to be a list here of all the 5 linked event chains on the different maps. Teq is best but those others are good too. I like the Svannir Chief chain too because it immediately follows Teq so you can get 10 events worth of karma in about 25 minutes.
Timely use of candy canes can add 10% karma too.
The Golem or the Hydra Queen follows the Karka Queen too, for good karma.

Not sure how much Karma they give but heart quests also give karma now. So you could just earn some passively while working on map completes if you still have any left to do.

I have been sitting on 3mil+ karma for years, mainly just from events and heart completes across all my alts. So it’s not that hard really to build it up.

Depending on which instance of Teq you end up in; there is usually a hero banner put out by a guild. You can also get a karma booster in the guildhall (assuming you have HoT and it has been unlocked). I have also seen a karma booster as a reward for story instance completion. I believe the amount of karma from the hearts has actually been reduced, but don’t hold me to that.

I ran lower level fractals when farming karma.
It’s not a whole lot, but it does help, especially with karma boosters.

I take part in most events I come across, and I semi-regularly do meta and world boss events…. otherwise I ignore it and don’t spend it until I have to…. and when I have occasion to look over at it, it’s grown by a lot.

I love how in every thread asking for help/advice on how to get ascended gear there is at least 1 person who says

“High level fractals have a good drop rate for ascended gear”

Thanks? If you don’t have ascended gear though then you can’t survive in these high level fractals…..

Low level fractals still drop ascended gear.
Ascended Trinkets, Amulet, and Rings will give you enough AR to get you into a high enough fractal range to see some decent weapon/armor drops.

I haven’t gotten an ascended drop from a first tier fractal. And still, telling people that the gear they want is accessible from content that requires the gear they don’t currently have is weird advice at best.

When I mentioned the higher level fractals having a chance for ascended gear, it was just sharing information. I didn’t mean it as “Oh hey, go do fractals right now”; I meant it more that once OP has made one or two ascended gear pieces (they could pretty easily do t1 and even some t2, as long as they have ascended accessories, now) they could try out doing the t3 fractals to get more pieces. And, while they’re trying their luck with RNG, they’ll also be getting better at fractals, getting more karma, and getting gold.
