Is anyone able to tell me where I can find a statue that gives you a boon when you kneel infront of it, or if it works at all?

I don’t think it works anymore, but it used to. If you /kneel @ in front of any of the Norn idols, while targeting it, you would get a buff depending on which idol it was.

I know that works in GW1 (you kneel in front of a statue to one of the human gods and it summons an avatar who would grant/sell you boons) but I didn’t know there was anything like that in GW2.

Grenth Statue in Lornar’s Pass at Reaper’s Gate but it’s a very short duration, something like 2 minutes and it will overwrite any food buff you are using.
There is also an altar in Malchor’s Leap where you can /kneel to trigger an event. You’ll have to fight a veteran.

There is an NPC in Queensdale that when you talk to her, she mentions something like “Sit beside me and enjoy the view.”

If you do /sit, you will actually get a 5 minute Regeneration boon.

There are more emote triggered bonuses/events, you just have to keep an eye out for the details/hints for most of ‘em, or simply know about them for others (Malchor’s Leap altar doesn’t have any text to hint on how to trigger, I did a /kneel at the altar on a whim one day, and spawned him to my surprise.)

Like MLieBennett says, this event happens in Malchor’s Leap when u kneel at his alter (no boon). Located in “Theater of Delight”, its near the bridge to the west right before u cross the water. You will know the event is ready when u see the skulls that surround the alter have glowing eyes.
