hello, as the title says i made a member a guild leader by mistake. Now i want to make him a normal member again but i cant demote him?

I think your best bet is simply to get all the members to leave and to begin again. His refusal to step down does make me wonder what sort of people are in the guild anyhow if they could act like that.
It wont take long to recover from the loss and you will be able to get rid of an unpleasant member. For good measure, mention his actions to other guilds, just to give him the hint that holding a guild for ransom like this is wrong. Perhaps with a bit of community pressure, he may step down anyway.

chronometria gave you good advice. Do not ask for advice if you do not want it. If you have a good guild they will be happy to move along with you. If not, just go back to spam advertising for guild members.

Are you still guild leader, are there 2, or is it just him? If he is the only GL then I don’t think you can do anything about it.
Did you ask him to step down?
