most fun class
The ground targeting of the nades engi is asking for a repetitive strain injury. I’d highly recommend flamethrower if the engi is at all attractive. All classes are viable in open world pve, but the top three are probably still warrior, guardian, and mesmer over all. Really, though, I’d pick whatever attracts you most initially. I have them all at 80 and they are all fun in their own ways.
You’ll find people willing to argue that every class is the most fun to play. The good thing is, it’s no hassle at all to create a new charcater/class, hop into PVP, and see how you find it. Don’t like? Delete that character/class and try another.
For me though, I have most fun with my mesmer. Or is it my ranger? Although, my necro is a lot of fun too …. :p
I have played my guardian the whole year and not once have I grown tired of him. I also played mesmer and thief and they were both a lot of fun. Just see what seems cool and stick with it. All classes are fun tbh.
skillwise…engineer, mesmer and thief may require most skill to play efficiently.
@ash haha good point.
I want to know what class has the most skill shots. I don’t like auto target
It is just the style of gameplay you like. Each class offers something different. If you mean “skill shots” as in the opportunity to pretty much 1 shot your opponent then roll warrior gs and mace/shield. You also have a mesmer shatter build. That can be a little tougher to play.
Bad Elementalist
Engineer: Lowest dmg (Even nade build) Requires a lot of bouncing between kits to put out what other classes do much better.
Mesmer: A good Shatter cat build will make doing anything easy and med-high dps
Guardian: The all around fun class, jack of trades master of none. Great support, best defensive class low-medium high dps.
Warrior: Big dps, good hp regen builds, super 1 shot wanderer builds/glass cannons.
Elemental: High to OMFG dps but die quicker than Gillbert Godfrey in a prison fight. They have a good skill set that require MUCH stance dancing but worth it.
Ranger: Don’t know since patch.
Necro: Good survivability, expected dps, fun class if you like kiting.
Thief: Best dps all around but very easy to be killed if not well versed in the fine arts of oh crap run!
Above is all my own opinion and should have no bearing on your own when having fun.
Welcome to our great community.
I vote warrior for most fun class
One thing about guardian. You wont really have any ranged option. If you love melee we are a total beast. While others are running from a mob odds are guardians will be right there face to face with it. Overall i have a guardian, thief, ranger, engineer, and necro. Of those honestly i enjoy the guardian by far the most. The only down side is if you are running with a bunch of glass cannons and they start to kite your basically useless that entire fight. Other than guardian i do enjoy my thief. If you like targeting with your spells try elementalist. Yes they can be squishy but i’ve also seen elementalist walk threw stuff that would kill most classes. Currently i dont know if its just me but engineer just feel weak. They seem good on paper but i just cant seem to get mine to perform. Its damage seems low. Its healing/support is a joke. Its not really able to take a hit. Use to engineer was a blast that burned its way threw mobs. Anymore i cant even take one mob out without nearly being killed by said mob.
My advice for a new player’s first character: asura ranger.
The asura are easiest to jump with and make jumping puzzles fun, not a chore ending in rage quitting. They are also quite cute and bounce funny. :P
I think ranger is a great starting class. It’s fun to collect all the animals, and your pets are like side kicks that keep a lot of damage off of you in PvE. It’s also a very easy and fun class to play and great to get your feet wet.
I wouldn’t recommend Elemental as a first character because it take a bit of skill when done properly.
Once you get the hang of the game, you’ll kinda figure out where you want to go next as far as characters are concerned. I personally have different characters that I ring out depending on what task I want to do.
Have fun & welcome!!!
The Elementalist and the Engineer are the two professions with the highest skill ceilings (difficult to master the profession.) The Ele in particular has to do twice the amount of work to get the same result as the other professions. However, IMO the Ele is the most fun to play. Attacks are flashy, and while we can’t do any one thing exceptionally well we can do a little bit of everything, which is useful in open world PvE and dungeon PUGs. The ele playstyle is by necessity hectic and very active, as staying in one place and in one attunement can be a death sentence. If you’re a fan of hectic playstyles you should definitely try Ele, but keep in mind that they’re not the most highly sought after profession in high level PvE, but at least they’re better off than Rangers and Thieves in this regard :p
I think im gonna try Elementalist guys!
if this download ever finishes :P

Here’s an insane dps build https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVqU9-Rrack
Turn off autotargeting and dont tab target: you can play GW2 as a TPS
Turn off Melee assist so you can go through enemies while attacking them
Enable Fast ground targeting so you only have to hit skill keys once and it will aim where your cursor is
