Hi guys in order for me to explain why i need mini pets i need to give some context .

I am a HUGE gamer but my GF is not. The only game she has ever played was Gw2 and this was on the account of her previous BF. He tried the game didn’t like it and handed it to her and since then she has massed up 8000Ap 4 lvl 80 characters a lot of account bound items and thousands of gems bought to increase bank slots bag slots etc . When we moved ISP the ex kept getting mails to auth us to log in. We tried logging a ticket to ask if we can move the account to her email and even purchased a new account but due to the policies of GW2 the refused to transfer it over even though i could prove my CC paid for everything on that account. So effectively we lost the account and had to start over.

TLDR: played on some one else account that doesn’t play gw but now have to start over

The main thing here is that she was pretty upset as any one would be that 2 years of work is down the drain . And she lost all interest to play the game. I have begged her and begged her to come back and she is trying to get herself to actively play again. The thing however she misses the most is her mini collection. Due to our guild mates and myself we were able to fund the purchase of some minis ( why are they so expensive now ?? ) by the sets 1 and 2 minis are no longer featured on the TP.

So what im asking is if any one that is hoarding minis in the hope of a price rise sees this will you be able to sell me some of those minis. I really want my Gf and myself to play this game as much as we used to and this is a huge incentive to keep her smiling and playing.

I am on EU – Aurora Glade server ( not that it matters but i like people knowing i was on the best server )

( PS : I am not asking for hand outs. Im legitimately asking for purchase opportunities. )

Minis are really expensive now for three reasons:

1. The wardrobe means you pay once, you can use the minis at will on all characters, without having to store them. This convenience makes it more desirable to buy them. This also means you aren’t likely to find a lot of people with “spare” minis — those who still have them are likely investors waiting for the right moment to sell.
2. The associated collections require unlocking the minis, which means they leave market circulation. When your GF played before, you could re-sell the minis after maxing the achievement.
3. Until the last patch, ANet has been slowly removing all sources of the core minis.

Thus, the supply:demand ratio is a lot lower than it was back when and prices have adjusted accordingly.

Your best bet is to put in buy orders on the TP for as many as you can afford, at prices you think are “reasonable.” This is what I’ve always done, which sometimes has meant a wait of months to finally purchase some — I don’t mind waiting to save 30-80% on the price, compared to when I put in the offer. It’s a huge project you are undertaking (and bravo! for thinking of it and following through). So steel yourself for the long haul. I’d recommend picking a dozen to start out: your favorites (or hers) or whatever criteria you like (all the asura or all the jungle animals) and once that’s settled, picking another dozen.

You can still buy all the Set 1-3 minis (and many of the others) on the TP. They are more expensive but they are still for sale. They also come from black lion chests, but only rarely and obviously it’s random if you get one and random which one you’ll get.

As a mini collector myself I can imagine how upsetting it must be for your girlfriend to lose her whole collection. Unfortunately as a mini collector all my minis are in the wardrobe and I don’t have any duplicates or spare gold (I literally have a total of 71s 48c on my whole account).

But I can tell you that buying them from the TP isn’t too bad. If you wanted to get them all at once it’d be very expensive but buying them gradually isn’t too bad. Either place buy orders for what you think is a reasonable price and wait or check regularly and bid when the price dips.

Always, always place buy orders. It’s often significantly cheaper and it’s rare for them not to be filled sooner or later. I normally put in a buy order for a few copper above the current high bid when I go to bed and wake up the next morning to find it’s been filled.

thank you for your advice. And apreciate it. I received tons of advise through the ingame mail as well as few people dropping a mini in the mail. It was forwarded str8 to my Gf and oh boy if you could see her face. It jsut made me again realize why i love this game and its community. People are always keen to help no matter the situation.

I was very fortunate to get to my bank and see i have 2 intricate gossamer insignias for zealot stats . They are for some very unknown reason 40 gold. I sold them and we have ordered about 18 minis now. Now we play the waiting game .
