the thing is when u complete a Quest a get to choose between items. Either will it be leather/cloth/chain/plate the items have diffrent stats on them, depending on the class i chose i usually went for power or Vitality. What i was wondering is what does thoughness do?

Also what is condition damage? because ive seen weapons that instead op power or vitality and such have condition damage on them and have higher dps rating or better effects than my current item. But since i dont really know what condition damage is, i really dont know what to do with it.

So help is appreciated here

Condition damage is for damage over time effects. Bleeding, burning, poison become more powerfull from condition damage as opposed to power which gives you higher direct damage. Toughness is used to reduce the direct damage you take, it reduces every hit on you by a percentage. It does not reduce condition damage taken, this is why you will also need some vitality (your health pool).

Condition damage: bleeding, burning, poison.
Power: direct damage.
Vitality: more HP, used to survive conditions since toughness does not reduce condition damage taken.
Toughness: reduces direct damage.

Some professions get very high base health, like necromancer. Some professions get very high base toughness, like guardians. The trick is to balance out your base values, stats from trait lines and gear into a mixture that works for you.
