Try asking around /r/mechanicalkeyboards. It’s definitely worth getting a decent mechanical over any rubberdome keyboard. I’d make a specific recommendation but I have no idea what prices are like in the UK

Both looks like decent mechanical keyboards. At that price they probably use knock-off cherry clone switches though. The FS section in any PC forum or Geekhack will probably have some brand name mechys for much lower prices than retail if you don’t mind second hand.
@Fermi, mechy prices are kinda high in the UK for the stuff that’s cheap in the USA, but there’s a decent selection of £60-80 stuff from retailers here (one of our supermarkets, Tesco, has it’s own mechanical keyboard range now with RGB and everything!)
/r/mechmarket is also a good place to look for used keyboards, and you might find something nice on /r/hardwareswap. I just nabbed a Ducky Zero for $75 on /r/hws, basically new

Thanks for the advice all, I got it working again. Got windows to get it working with generic keyboard drivers.
