Hi Guys,I know this game is out for few years now,
But I only just now started playing it after long last buying an adequate PC.

Yesterday I finished the core game? (I think) ,by killing the elder dragon: Zhytan.
Then I was redirected by the game to an NPC,where I was shown ,a cinematic of Season 1,and got the ability to talk and get explanation from the NPC on each Season 1 heroes.

So far so good.

So what now? I think the game at the moment is on season 3?
I found by myself season 2 in the Hero tab/story.
It seem I have to pay 200 Gems for each part of it(1600 total gems)

So some questions:

1)Didn’t I get all the game and following expansions by buying HoT?
2)Is Season 2 worth Buying?
3)Or should I skip directly to HoT?
4)Is HoT considered season 3 and if not where is that then?

Thanks in advance!!

1) Kinda, Season 2 was never free, it was given for free if you logged during the 2 weeks after its release, after that it cost 200 gems

2) I think it is, the mission and story is nice, the luminous set and the trinket you can get from the achievements are pretty nice too.

3) If you don’t care about the armor and story you can skip to HoT story, but personally, I would get Season 2.

4) Technically HoT happens after season 2 but doesn’t count as season 3. Season 3 will be released later.

Charter Vanguard [CV] – HoD
Bardy Belzebuson – Ranger Sir Belzebu – Herald
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)

Season 2 was released during 2014 and early 2015, so isn’t part of the core game you bought. Anyone who logged in during the first couple of weeks after an episode was released got it for free, everyone else has to pay 200 gems per episode. The price only applies to the storyline – the new maps added during season 2, Dry Top and Silverwastes, are available to all players for free.

When season 3 kicks off later this year, I’d expect it to use a similar model – make sure you log in during the first two weeks of each chapter if you want it for free.

If you don’t care about the armor, achieves, and rewards, but just want to see the story, you can do that by having someone who has it unlocked open the instance for you. There will be some limitations, as only the one that starts the instance can do the interactions with the objects inside, but you will certainly see it all.

If you are NA and play in the afternoons/evenings eastern time give me a shout. I’d be glad to host you through season 2 and to give you time to read the dialogues and tell me which responses to pick if/when there are choices.

I don’t think it’s worth paying real money for, but if you have enough gold with nothing to do I would get it. 1600 gems is what, 200 gold or something? So pretty reasonable for many players, although maybe not you since you’re new (that might sound like a fortune!)

You can read a recap on the wiki if nothing else.

Season 1 was a different type of season all together; Anet was experimenting with what living world meant. S1 was all big open world events rather than story instances, so it’s not possible to replay it. Think ‘world bosses’ kind of stuff.

Also before you buy S2, know that it’s no where near the length of the personal story. It’s like… I don’t know an hours worth of content? That’s why I suggested gold instead of real money. Totally up to you of course, and it was fun regardless of how much content it was.

It’s more than an hour. Even with full map exploration, knowing the story and achieves inside-out, and thief mobility I couldn’t do all 8 chapters of LS2 in an hour. Maybe an hour per chapter for first run through if you’re learning it and not stopping to savor? Remember there are unskippable dialogues and cut scenes.
