razer nostromo owners
i use it for a number of reasons, mainyl quality of life and not having to rehome my hand to wasd/esdf etc.
i’v ebeen using n50/n52/n52te/nostromo for over 10 years now in every game i’ve played during.
my set up is basically
12w34
5asd6
7890
dpad up – jump
down – voice push to talk
left – use/loot
right – weapon swap
space button – frap toggle record
alt thumb button – dodge
if you’re wondering why i don’t have the f skills bound, i did have them bound via modifier keys in teh gw2 client keybind list, but unfortunately gw2’s modifier key functionality is broken, so i had to disable this. i simply spec my toons around it now.
Sweet thanks. I’ve been sitting here on my lunch break staring at it wondering how I was going to set it up. I think ill use your set up and tweak from there.
My son’s using ours for GW2, with the thumb d-pad for movement. (disable double tap to dodge is a must). That left him enough keys to be able to map 1-0, swap, F, T, F1 to the keypad on the Nostromo.
i should note i rebind a and d to strafe left and right in every game, and i’ve turned off double tap to dodge as well.
Yeah I was thinking about that too, since I’m going to be able to use my mouse more with movement and targeting
Does the scroller work as a button too? I was gonna make that my vent/mumble/team speak button
Meh… Really hard getting used to it.
I got my last month and its be great along with Logitech gaming mouse I never have to touch my keyboard which was my biggest weakness . I’m a 2 finger typer so could take me few sec to find some some moves on the keyboard it really had me at a disadvantage. Kept keybinding very simple top 2 rows 1→0 lined up using the bottom row for turn movements and thumb bottoms for loot , map ,and backing up.
I love mine. I use the d-pad for movement which frees my left hand fingers for f1-f4 on the bottom row of the nostromo. I play an elementalist so a Nostromo and Naga really helps.
@suroktheslayer do you use the strafe function or turn with your d-pad?
This is my preferred setup.
All skill keys bound to the first 2 top rows.
I like to be able to dodge easily so bound double tap functions to the directional pads and am able to switch weapons on the fly with the scroll wheel button.
I got one as a present three days ago. I don’t like to map the keys on a device as “mirrors” of other device, so I configured all the keys as Joystick buttons and went to GW2 configuration to add the, as the alternate buttons. And the game won’t let me do it. It recognizes ok the additional buttons of my mouse, but it plainly refuses to accept joystick buttons as input.
The other thing I dislike of the configuration is being able to configure Wheel Up and Wheel Down as a keyboard button but no as a joystick button.
Here is the setup I use for nostromo and logitech G500.
I had trouble stretching to reach the top row for normal skill use, so I combined everything into the middle row with mouse modifiers.
Ryptel, can you share how you assigned the mouse modifiers? I want to try almost your exact setup.
I have an orbweaver, this setup looks interesting =D

Is it worth the &60 more than the nostromo?
