played gw2 upon release, ended up having too much to do irl to keep up.. it is summer now so ive decided to restart clean… couple of real rookie questions

1]most fun/competitive pvp class?
2]do the specs that you pick in the character creation screen really mean anything in the long run? ex earth, water, fire, air for ele.
3]at this point do you have to spend rl money to be competitive?

Guardian

Not really.

3]at this point do you have to spend rl money to be competitive?

There’s nothing in gem store that improves your competitiveness.

1: This is not black and white to answer and it highly depends on what you find fun and competitive. Guardian has some builds that are hard to crack by enemy players, but then again some enemy players have develloped pretty good tactics to counter it, and maybe just that is your cup of tea.

2: The specs you mean only are important for an armor piece. these are starter quality and you will likely replace them very soon (when playing PvE, in PvP you get other equipment). The skin of these items however are unique. There is often no other way of obtaining that skin. So it only really matters if you want a specific skin.

3: Nope. There is actually only two pvp related items in the store. The first is a finisher stone, changing the animation when you ‘finish them’ someone. This is purely graphical. The other is a glory booster, this gives you a small advantage when it comes to rising rank, but rank doesnt improve your skills and the advantage is rather small.

Arise, ye farmers of all nations
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
