sPvP not fun at all
Well, its action based PvP. I would recommende you to try get 5 ppl together with some VoIP for tPvP. Hot Join is basiclly zerg who is farming points (mostly), so I understand your disapoining.
Did you spend any time in the mists learning about what to do? Do you at least have the amulet/sigils? Sounds like you should’ve tagged along with one of your ally’s for a while.

It is rather boring i couldn’t agree more, the lack of maps,objectives..It’s the same thing over and over untill you get bored of it.I used to play spvp Alot at gw2 release, but it was more to test out different builds, traits, using all possible weapon combos then anything else.Once i was done with that i havent touched spvp again, think i only came to rank 24,simply because its not fun to be doing. Now if this was made into something like Kurzicks – Luxons …
Would be nice to see some maps with no objectives at all – just pure team free for all.
If you feel like your health drops to zero very quickly, try slotting defensive skills (endure pain, stealths and teleports etc). Also, try putting on an amulet with more defensive stats.
Never just jump on a point, look at how many enemies and allies there are. Just jumping in a fight without knowing whats going on is never a good idea.
If youre losing the fight, run away.
You can also look for builds on the forums, there are alot of viable builds for each profession, but i would still recommend makkng your own builds, because its more fun!
After you gain some experience fights wont be disorienting as they are now, it just takes some time and getting used to.
I also agree that you cant compare it to other mmos, as gw2 is action based, if you run a high offensive, los defensive amulet, then a single mistake can mean your death.
Putting on a defensive amulet should solve some issues.

Lyssa’s Grimoire – a guide every Mesmer should read.
Don’t forget there’s observe mode now too so you can watch before you jump in.
You shouldn’t feel bad if a zerg ran over you. Imagine if a solo player killed you
Interesting. I am NOT a PvP-type player by any means at all, but I, too, had my first experience in spvp very recently (the day before yesterday).
What’s truly surprising is that I REALLY enjoyed myself. I went in with a condition/confusion Mesmer (only a few different utility skills from what I use in PvE), and while I expected to be instagibbed (like what happens in any other game’s pvp), I found that I could be remarkably effective, and astoundingly survivable, provided I was careful, and didn’t try to take down the whole opposing team at once, all by myself.
May I ask what profession you decided to take to the mists? Now that I have participated, I can certainly see how melee-heavy professions/builds could be extraordinarily frustrating.
