Should I upgarde?
Have you cleaned your PC lately? Do it before handing it for others to check, they will just do that and charge you about it if they see your computer is full of dust.
Over time, the air vent that helps regulate your computer’s temperature can get clogged with dust, causing the CPU to overheat and malfunction. To clean it, you’ll need to open your computer’s case. Buy a can of compressed air (~5-10€), for blowing particles out of sensitive areas, at any computer store.
Clean the vents. Start with cotton swabs or a pair of tweezers, and remove all of the larger dust bunnies and other detritus you see. Follow through by spraying compressed air to chase the rest of the dust out of the vent system. Spray it everywhere else you can reach, too, taking care to keep the nozzle a few inches away from the components and I/O ports (plug holes for various cords). Don’t forget to pop open your optical drives and briefly spray them out.
Obviously, the goal is to remove crumbs and dust, not push them farther into your computer. Be mindful of this as you aim your compressed air.
– Compressed air can hurt sensitive components if overused. Always spray in short bursts rather than a sustained stream.
– It may be acceptable to gently tilt your laptop to encourage difficult particles to roll closer to where you can flush them out, but don’t ever shake or slap it. You could loosen delicate parts.
Also your computer is aging, so if you feel your computer could use a bit more kick when playing you can try razer game booster. It won’t help with physical heating, so do the cleaning as I described above. Gamebooster will just close any unnecessary applications & processes for you when start your game aka putting all your resources purely for gaming: http://www.razerzone.com/gamebooster
I used it with my old PC, haven’t used it with new one yet.
This belongs more in the hardware section but to help you a bit.
Defora is right bout cleaning.
If using cotton swabs. You can touch all cooling elements with it, but make sure you don’t apply pressure. The cooling elements are often attached to the most sensitive and most expensive parts. Also make sure you have the power of the computer unplugged.
Also make sure you discharge yourself of static electricity. Best way to do this is by touching metal pipes for example of your homes central heating system or water system. You can also use the computer casing for this but the result is lesser.
The problem might be that your cpu cooler is not doing the job. I often see (specially with AMD) that the if you buy a CPU-box (CPU with a cooler from AMD) those coolers are very minimal and limited. A decent CPU cooler isn’t expensive.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Thanks for the advice, The pc is clean, the fan is working but spinning very fast. maybe the thermal gel needs to be reapplied and a better cooling system installed if the CPU is still good enough to keep up with this game
alternately it may be your PSU failing to deliver, if you think it could be the gel or the fan a good way to try and test is to leave the case off while you run it see how that goes also make sure you hold your hand over the CPU fan + GFX card fan, see if there pushing out warm or cold air (same with the PSU fan).
is it only in GW2 the PC overheats or is it at anytime?

right now with just chrome core is between 110-120F, with warm air
I loaded GW2 at the lowest settings and it shot up to 140F in about 3 min

Are you have problems or errors? Please DL CoreTemp and DL IBT (Intel Burn Test) and run it and see what your max core temps are.
I have the AMD Phenom II x6 1055t (not overclocked by me) @ 2.80 GHz.
As has been said your system, as mine, is a bit aged. Thing is it should still be, as mine is, fine for GW2.
The temperatures you are reporting are WAY over the top and you do need to do something about that asap!
Going with a better CPU cooler than the stock one is probably for the best – I Have a huge two fan Noctua NHD14 (http://www.dabs.com/products/noctua-dual-radiator-and-fan-cpu-cooler-multi-socket-73GN.html?q=noctua&src=16) on my CPU but other cheaper coolers that do great are available.
Remember that cooling is very much about airflow around the case too! Check all your cables are tidy and the air is flowing well.
A possible help would be to add another cooling fan and these can be got quite cheaply (this is a suggestion only – not an instruction). The thing is though that adding another fan at this stage would probably have little affect as your temps are so very high.
What video card are you using and what PSU (power supply)? It could be that, as DrixTrix hinted your PSU is under powered or faulty and not getting enough power to where it is needed.
As you say that hardware is not your thing then maybe a visit to a computer repair shop is in order. Maybe you have a friend or relative that is more tech savvy and could help. Just remember that there is a difference between those that big themselves up as a computer expert and those that do actually know what they are doing!
If you are going it alone and if you feel confident enough to do so then simply removing the cooler then CPU, properly cleaning all thermal paste from both CPU and Cooler, ensuring CPU is properly seated , applying new good quality thermal paste then putting back your current or a new (better) cooling system is probably the way to go. THIS IS NOT A DEFINITE THOUGH.
As has been mentioned in the thread, giving as much detail regarding your system, temperatures you are getting, Core Temp readings and such is generally a good idea as then those wishing to help will be better placed to do so. Sadly, those wishing to help can only go so far on the information given.
Any ways, best of luck and I hope you get it sorted soon.

I will post the results asap of coretemp and ibt, cable is off and on today for some reason.
I am okay with upgrading/changing/removing everything except the CPU.
yesterdays temps http://d.pr/i/ZIl9
Today after the testing http://d.pr/i/XXzB
I have no clue but it seemed to have fixed its self.

Doubtful, it probably had/has the wrong TjMax setting and as such computed the wrong temps, also only run one temp program at a time, running more than one can cause read errors.
There is no program in the world that can read the real temp of a CPU core, all these programs use a guessing ratio. The CPU has a built in TjMax, which it has sensors for, but these are NOT for reading temps, but telling the CPU and BIOS when it hits TjMax and when it needs to shut down for over heating, these programs guess real temp based off of the distance to TjMax that the sensor is reporting, so if it has a TjMax of 100C and the program reads it’s 10% from TjMax then the program guesses that the core temp is 90C.
I would also suggest deleting speedfan and sticking with coretemp, AMD even recommends coretemp for temp monitoring.
Also keep in mind the CPU you have has a TjMax of 99C, however that is the shutdown temp, normal load temps you want to keep under 71C.
Deleted speedfan. Thanks for all the help to everyone. I have been running around 22C with just chrome; in southsun no higher then 38c
Sounds allot more normal, being that only 3 of the cores are being loaded it should not hit very high temps at all.
