skin of a soulbound item to an alt, possible?
i know that the armor from each order can be transmuted to a white and it will be accountbound instead of soulbound, don’t think it works on dungeon armor though (never heard anyone that tried it)
Now that you mention it I have seen low-level characters running arounds Queensdale with high-end armor skins. ’Twould be a nice factoid to know how that was accomplished.

Yes, you can use high-end armor on a low level char. Its simple:
1)Transfer gold/token (that you gained with your main) by the bank to your low lvl pg
2)Buy cultural/dungoen set that you want with your low level char
3)Use transmutation stone with an appropriate armor piece that you can wear.
For example buy a tier 3 cultural helm that is lvl 80, so not usable by a lvl 10 char, but with transmutation stone you can create a new item with the skin of the tier 3 helm and the stats of a lvl 10 helm. At the end of the process you have a lvl 10 helm with the high end skin. Clearly you lose the stats of the high-end item.
I saw for example a lvl 2 Charr with the legendary hammer.

Can anyone confirm whether transmuting a soulbound item into an unbound item causes it to become accountbound or not? Mostly just pieces that are used for looks.
The prime example is moving starting armor like the Guardian’s pauldrons with the ankhs to some other character that uses heavy armor.
All you have to do is take the soul bound item, use a transmutation stone on it + a white grade item. It will say the results will be soulbound but they always end up account bound. Then plop the new item in the bank and take it on the desired character.
I took the glowing necromancer eyes and have it on my elementalist for one of his outfits.
Wow! Thanks for the clues, guys.
Now the next thing.
Example: I have the Krytan armor skin on my ranger I would like to use it also for my thief.
Thinking about it, there probably is not a way to get a second copy of an item, right?
That would lead to cloning Legendaries and such. Ha!

I can confirm that this works with starter gear. I have done it with the necromancer eyes and thief hood. The lowest level head gear item I found was level 10 off the TP (white). After transmuting, the items became account bound.
I did the same thing to get the thief hood on my ranger and guardian shoulders on my warrior. It works as of last week.

Ok, thanks for confirm that this method works on starter items, but anyone know if this works with any soulbound items (cultural, orders, dungeon) Or only with the starter?

I can confirm that it works with all armor and weapon items. Transmute it onto a white or blue rarity item and it will become account bound. Back items will still be soulbound, however.
