I must say, using tap to switching target, have been done poorly. I have tried so many times now, that it picks a target, not near me, and that i’m not even fighting

You might want to correct the spelling of TAB so people know what you are talking about.
Personally I don’t use it so it is not an issue.

TAB just cycles through targets. There is a command to select the nearest target. It is not bound to a key by default but you can bind it to a key in the options. I bound it to J. Can’t remember what the command is called but it is selectable from a list.
