Hello, am looking for a bit of advice on how to improve my chance of getting my greedy little paws on the lovers bow http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Lover
First of all, I am a pure wvwvwvw’er and the wiki states : "Can be obtained from any Dungeon chest or Champion chest. ". Guess that means no bow for you becourse wvwvwvw’er dont deserve items.

Since i am running around with less than a gold to my name, yeah constant repairs and siege does that to you, I have 0 chance of getting it on the trade station.

Been trying to squize in a few dragon runs over the last week or so, around 25-30 kills, but all I get from that is blue and an occational green drop.

Is the dragons really the only way for people that dont want to do boring pve instances over and over and over (not grindy mind you) and over again?

Precursors can drop from the jump puzzle chests in any of the Borderlands and the Eternal Battlegrounds. Theoretically, they also can drop from players you kill. Both methods of obtaining mentioned here are incredibly rare occurrences.

Considering I have yet to see a single exotic drop from about 4 months worth of wvwvw, I wont hold my breath until that happends ^^

Yeah, while I do have the Dreamer I wouldn’t even attempt to actively “farm” a Precursor. The drops are so rare that I haven’t seen one since the game launched.

You essentially have 3 options to obtain the Precursor weapon all of which require significant amounts of Gold. No Gold….no nothing.

a) Buy it directly off the tradepost. Expensive but reliable.
b) Create your own in the Mystic toilet. A gamble, but it can pay off.
c) Wait for the Scavenger Hunt quest series to be implemented. This may take until February though.

However on any case it will require a significant amount of resources. You won’t get around farming Gold etc. to get what you want. But honestly, if you’re not going for a Legendary why get the most expensive Shortbow? There’s many cheaper alternatives.

Yeah starting to sound like I might aswell give up on this when I dont like grinding mindless pve content.

Anet have said there will be something akin to a scavenge hunt for precursors, no ETA has been given though. If you’re interested in the legendary I’d recommend getting the other ingredients first and then worrying about the precursor.

i got some exotics in wvw. id say about 1 every 2k kills lol.
