tips on playing a thief
Which traits are you talking about? For Revealed Power, you’re going to want to CnD→Backstab, wait until Revealed is at 1s, CnD→Backstab (wait until 1s on Reveal because of animations. CnD takes a while to stealth thereby giving you the most out of your CnD). Don’t forget to rotate behind the mob WHILE stealthing, not after.
Additionally, when the mob is at 50% or lower, switch to D/P (if you have it on) and drop a Blinding Field every so often to get a stealth HS → Revealed → Revealed Training. Although that costs a lot of Initiative, so have fun.
Woooo~
Don’t take my advice too seriously, I don’t know how effective the advice is since my Thief doesn’t even have Revealed Training unlocked!
Well, right now I’m only lvl 12. I’m finding straight-on shadow shot→attack combo→heartseeker works sometimes, but my other skills seem hard to set up, especially working only a 13-button mouse because I have one working hand.
Oh, you mean skills to buy? Utility skills won’t really make a difference at the beginning, aim for Venoms, Signets, Stealth, and Scorpion Wire. Slot on Signets and Stealth. Don’t use the Signets unless you know what you’re using it for (the teleporting signet as a stunbreak AND teleport, not just a teleport). Don’t use the Stealth unless you’re running away, running through, or reviving someone.
Rotations, you can probably run D/D and spam Death Blossom. That’s always fun to level up, especially when paired with Caltrops. Lure as many mobs as you can, drop Caltrops and Death Blossom for days.
If you want a safer method of killing, run S/P. Use Pistol 5 to blind everything, then cleave with your sword auto attacks. Feel free to use Pistol Whip if you want (S/P3).
D/P is also safe, but since it’s single target (soon to be double target) it’s not that “good” for leveling up. Definitely is fun with shadow shot. Remember to use Heartseeker when the enemy is below 25%. If they’re at 50% or lower, it’s still good, but not always the best option (at least for now).
The reason why D/D and S/P are good is because they’re AoE (yes 2 daggers is AoE, wooo) so you can lure a few things together (or more with D/D) and then smack ’em all down gaining tons of exp (not really). It simply makes finishing Hearts or Events faster and allows you to progress instead of fighting things one by one, which thematically is cool, but really ends up just being inefficient and tedious.
