Guild Wars 2

Just starting playing GW2. I want to unlock my bank slots, says I need gems, but then get a network error when I click on the button. Where outside the game can I buy gems?

I don’t know what part of the world you’re in, but I’ve bought gems cards at Best Buy, Target, and I think Fry’s Electronics.

There may be new account restrictions on accessing the gem store. I assume you are not playing a free account?

Check if your firewall isn’t blocking the Gemstore browser. If that’s not it, put in a ticket with support.

You can still buy gem cards at some electronics retailers, but since I don’t know what country you’re in I can’t go in further detail than that.

Regardless of whether you are able to buy a gems card though, I’d recommend the earlier suggestion first. Your current issue might prevent you from using a gems card as well.

Good catch, DeanBB. I believe the last patch put in a 72hr block on gem purchases.

Edit: it’s a block on gold-to-gems conversion, so shouldn’t apply here.

Yes, bought the game, live in the US, I will check Best Buy. Thanks for the help.

In the US I’ve seen gem cards at Walmart and GameStop as well.
