i have 956,000 karma, im fully geared and im not interested in a legendary. what should i spend my karma on?

(this is a genuine query, but its also a bit of commentary about the fact that theres very few things to spend karma on that im aware of)

If you’re not interested in the current offerings for weapon and armor skins,
hold on to it. Chances are good that with new content, there will be new items you can purchase for karma. If you spend it all now, you may regret it later when new stuff comes out!

It’s a shame that Obsidian Shards are account bound. They’d be a good way to convert karma to cash for players who don’t need it anymore.

Purchase exotics gear and salvage them. Sell the salvage material on TP. In this way, you monetarize those karma points. Don’t waste those points.

I thought Karma items weren’t salvageable?

I think he may mean the Exotic armor purchased from the Temples in Orr, although I was under the impression that any item purchased with karma was unsalvagable too.

And what about Skill Points??

Pretty much. All of the stuff Miyani sells is used for high-end Mystic Forge recipes. You’ll be visiting her a lot if you’re trying to get Legendaries or Ascended items.

Rare/Exoitic Crafting Recipies, perhaps.

You could make them and sell them for coin on the trading post though I suspect your fairly flush with coins anyway.

i bought all the recipes for jewel crafting and armor smithing already

i WAS flush with coin, but i spent 70 gold to make jormag’s breath recently so im down to about 20 now

this is what ive been thinking too, maybe there’ll be some ascended karma vendor or something later but im worried ill end up hitting a cap before thats implemented.

(since i posted op, im up to about 990k karma now..WvW is good karma farm lol)

Not really, you tend to get better stuff given to you for completing stages of your personal story, or as loot drops. The only reason I would buy low level karma gear would be if I liked the look and thought I would use it as a skin for higher level gear.

Not really, with the exception of things like breather masks that seem somewhat hard to find otherwise.

Ah yes. I just realized that too. My mistake. Perhaps exotics gear is not a good way to monetarize karma point.

I believe you can buy other stuffs like cooking ingredient or crafting materials which you can then sell on trading post. This is a nice way to monetarize those karma point.

You can buy the temple gear and throw it in the mystic forge. 4 account-bound karma items will turn into an exotic you can sell.

Karma ingredients are account bound, I think what Assassinin is suggesting is cooking with those ingredients and then selling the result. Problem is, a lot of foods are cheap and/or require ingredients that also require gold.

Getting cheap karma exotics (WvW gear comes to mind) and tossing them in the Mystic Forge would also get around the no-salvage, no-sell problem, I think. But it does seem like quite the karma sink, especially if you don’t care about the output.

I would suggest you also look into what the numerical karma cap is – don’t want you running into it and really getting nothing from your bunch o’ karma.

ah now theres a good idea. unfortunately wvw karma items are rare so the chances are considerably lower to get a precursor but i guess i could drop 100k karma whenever i get close to a million on rifles or something. ty all

(and btw i read that the cap was 1 million, but as i recall there was a patch note sometime ago that said they raised the cap so i dont know what it is now)
