what should my AP priority be?
What are you wanting to earn achievement points for? For the bonuses? Are you trying to reach a certain number?
Dry Top is permanent, not temporary. The only temporary stuff anymore is – or should be – holidays (and daily/monthly).
If you ask me, unless you’re from grindy MMOs, dailies will burn you out fast if you put focus on them.
IMO, unless you’re interested in the achievement skins, don’t focus on achievements beyond holiday ones and maybe monthlies in the last week of each month. Only focus on dailies if you’re in need of laurels.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
I want AP because even some people act like it doesn’t matter, but AP is the first thing people look at, it carries more weight than any legendary or any skin. and nowadays good arah groups require at least 7k AP. I’m trying to get 11k ap asap and then 15k then just coast to infinity for rest of my life.
what do you mean dry top is permanent? how come stuff like the marionette and thing from he past were not?

Dry top, like Southsun, is an added map so it’s permanent. The events there are regular dynamic events, not part of the Living Story.
Marionette was part of the living story. When that part was over, it was removed.
You post every few months about having low AP, and people tell you over and over it’s not a big deal. The groups that have really high AP requirements usually suck and want someone to carry them. 3K AP is the maximum i would put as a requirement and that’s just to make sure you know what all the buttons do. AP doesn’t equal skill it correlates with play time and if someone plays a game enough you can assume they have a basic understanding of the mechanics.
About your OP you don’t need to do every single daily just play normally and you can get 3-6 then spend the 10mins it takes to get to 5 if you need to. Drytop is permanent most of season 2 is gonna be because people didn’t like that season 1 was temporary. If you want some AP quickly though the Jump Puzzles give 10 each the first time you finish them. You can also work on the Halloween achievements which are reset from last year so you can get more AP from them even if you did them last year, they are only available for 2 weeks.
Again you shouldn’t worry so much about the dailies I just hit 10k AP and almost never do more than 5 per day. They’re caped anyway so you’ll hit the cap eventually.
The most important thing to remember is this is a game it’s supposed to be fun, if your not having fun you need to stop and do something else that is fun.
OP, just ran Arah with you yesterday and you did fine. I used to slack off on dailies/monthlies for a couple of months too or I would have easily had like 12k AP or something. I usually try to get 6-8 dailies/monthlies now because I have a goal for 10k AP in mind. I also have most or all of achievs from Dry Top, Jumping Puzzles, Tequatl, Jungle Wurm, and EoTM. I wouldn’t suggest worrying about it too much, in my experience people with too much AP usually become jaded, and will sometimes rage at others with low AP and leave groups for small mistakes or when something isn’t done ‘perfect’. I would know, I will sometimes do this too.

Actually it was part of living story, but was season 1. After so many complains about temporary content they changed the way living story works with season 2, so now anything that’s added in the living story in the open world (like Dry Top) is permanent content. Same goes for the actual living story, the story parts are instanced, and unlocked for free on your account as long as you log in at least once while that particular episode is live (if you don’t, you have to pay 200 gems to unlock it), you can go to the story pane in the hero panel, activate the specific story episode you want to do and do it at anytime you want, and complete the achievements related to that particular living story episode anytime you want as well.
Since it didn’t work like that in season 1 you can’t replay or do achievements related to it, but they did say they want to make season 1 replayable as well, but since it would be a massive undertaking there’s no ETA or timefame for that to happen.
The only things that are temporary now are the festivals (like Halloween), so going back to your original question, if I were you I’d focus first on doing the halloween related achievements.
An extra note… if you don’t have season 2 unlocked and want to see the story, you can do them with a friend that has them unlocked like you do with the personal story, but you won’t be able to do any of the achievements unless you unlock them in your account.
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

OMG THIS….
This is so True…
Avoid grouping with people who require you to have high AP…
AP doesn’t equal to skills at all… I know someone who has 11k AP and sucks hardcore in combat that I had to revive her every time and all the time… She even refused to take my advice so I left…
Do yourself a favor and listen to these fine folks… Dont grind AP and just play the game… You’ll get AP overtime so just have fun…
Learn to develop your skills and team work with friends instead.
I have over 12k AP and I rarely do dungeons aside from the occasional CoF or CoE. Spend most of my time in events or Fractals.
If you’re looking for AP so you can join groups, you’re looking for AP so you can join groups that are usually so busy trying to see what you’re doing that they are bad at what they are supposed to be doing.
