i am a brand new player, just want to know what realms are in eastern time zone. i’m on Long Island New York if that is any help.

All servers/worlds use UTC time as server time. If you play during typical US hours, then just join any NA server that you like.

Server’s are broken up into NA and EU regions so that’s the only hard division between the servers. Though, for example, there’s nothing stopping a player from the NA region from signing up for an EU based server.

Otherwise, guilds are the soft divisions as they tend to have particular prime times or “business hours” that make them more or less appealing to players.

NA servers are in Texas, EU in Germany. Unless you are playing WvW, actual server isn’t important.

Choose any of the NA servers. There are no time zone specific servers beyond NA and EU.

For PvE/PvP all “servers” actually are blended together using what Anet calls Megaservers. Only WvW is server locked. If you think WvW is something you will play a lot down the line, choose carefully. Look at the rankings of the servers and decide where you would like to play, otherwise you could find yourself paying more to transfer later.
