1,000 PvP games as a Warrior - what next?
Nice stats, man xD
Go ele or thief if you like faceroll and want easy-mode.
Pick something else if you want to play an actually skill-based game.

grats on 1000 games bro, d/d Ele is the funnest class imo. Thief can be fun too, but backstab is probably in for a nerf so if you’re gana play thief probably get used to d/p or s/p cas d/d won’t be viable once bs is nerfed. Engineer and necro are RELY steep learning curves in comparison to all the other classes, mesmer and guard are most borring imo because you’re forced to run boring utilities that only benefit your team. Ranger is fun, pretty easy learning curve with a decently high skill cap, trap ranger gets boring after ~50 games though.

My stats are meh, I pug with randoms very often so my win/loss isn’t great, but my top stats seems to be pretty high compared to other people’s. Thanks though!
Don’t care for easy mode, just want a class that’s fun to play and might benefit from someone with a warrior playstyle background.
Need moar opinions

I’d love to know your secrets, Nick. I’ve been maining a Warrior since the first beta weekend and haven’t been able to find a build that I’m comfortable with for sPvP.

I run my own unique build that I haven’t seen anywhere else, I put out a lot of damage but I don’t run full glass. Going glass is very hard unless you have a good team to help out. I use GS + Axe/Shield, my traits are weird, though.
Also I’ve only been pvping for a little over a month, I did PvE until I found out how much better PvP is.
Engineers are super fun. If you’ve had success as a warrior, you can as an engi…as I most commonly see them ranked 7th and 8th as far as OP/UP.
However, if you’re just looking to “learn another profession” go with thief or ele. Both of them have a “standard” playstyle that’s effective, but right now the engi has literally zero playstyle continuity. I find that extremely fun, but if you tell your team “I’m bringing an engi” they’ll have no idea what that means.
The “100nades” engi build plays somewhat like a greatsword warrior, just with ranged pressure instead of mobility/gap closers.
Edit: ah, and if you enjoy creating your own non-standard builds, engi is the profession for you.

I do like the idea of having my characters be 100b & 100 nades, haha. I’m not looking to be a bunker of any sort, so as long as people don’t usually “expect” engis to run bunker I might give that one a shot.
Does it take a while before not being completely terrible on an engi?
No, people haven’t expected engies to be bunkers for a while. It was super annoying when they did, though. The learning curve is a little higher than other professions I’d say, although I still haven’t played every profession in PvP.
100nades is not a stellar 1v1 build, so expect to lose most of those until you get pretty good at it. It’s not too tough to get a feel for teamfights, though. There’s a fair amount of hidden cooldowns, bugs, and tooltip insufficiency to keep track of. Other than that, go 30/x/x/x/10+ and start blowing stuff up.
I saw your pic and all I could think was “hey……. I’ve played Soko D Medo before!” lol
can’t remember if he was any good though, probably at least decent?
Anyway I say go Guardian. It’s what I did at first anyways. You’re still in heavy armor so you wont have that initial “light/medium armor? why am I dying so fast?” that some people go through. They do decent damage too, I mean not anywhere near warrior/thief/ele ofc, but enough when they need too.
That for me at least helped ease into the other classes, since guardians can also do a little bit of everything (or just be the hardest kitten class to kill in the game if you so choose lol)
Ive got nearly 1,000 games as an Engi and i love it
To be fair though i have done every build you can think of and then some!
Top 3 are -
SD Rifle Build
Might Stacking FT
Elixer Grenades
Warrior – Teined
Guardian – Nomoreroomformyname
So I decided to go with engineer, won 1st place in my first free tourney. Having lots of fun, think I made a good choice. I can’t wait until I have a solid grasp on everything the class has to offer – and being an engineer, it might take a while.

Yay for engies! I’m actually starting to see one once every few matches now, it’s cool!

I know! I would go like 30 matches at a time without seeing one, now it seems like there’s more of them. ONE OF US. ONE OF US.
ONE OF US. ONE OF US.
OOOOhhhhh snap nightmares!
I was beaten to suggesting it but YAY another engi!
If you need any help Nick, feel free to message me. I have a little over 900 games on engineer, with about 75% being tourneys. My ign is Vöz if you want to find me there.
Good luck on engi!

Unfortunatly most of them have quit the game in the past month, but I’m thinking about getting 4 or 5 others to remake the squad haha

Great choice, can honestly say its the engineer profession that has kept me in love with this game, loads of fun builds , some far simpler than others to be effective with. There is an updated post on engi forums with recent builds maybe you will care to look at and get you tuned into the profession.
Hey Vöz, can I get a tryout lol

Cool, thanks, I’ll do that. Been running 100 nades and have been having a lot of fun. The insta spikes from stealth are awesome, I just need to get a little better and more useful in between bursts.
Grats bud! Hope you have fun with the engi. Always enjoy playing with/against you!

So, according to the forum, I started engineer about 10 days ago. Here’s my progress, after 250 games.
Also, here’s a video a made a few days ago showing some kills.
Slowing down a bit, got to 350 yesterday sometime. 165 QP before new map.
