10 matches not a single Mesmer
Mesmers upset by these nerfs are overreacting IMO. I play a Mesmer build that’s almost completely unaffected by these nerfs, and the current CD for the three nerfed Phantasms is no worse than the CD for all Phantasms back in Beta: yet Phantasm builds did perfectly fine back then too.
Really I still see 3-4 mesmers each match in pugs and haven’t seen a team without a mesmer yet in tournament play today. Even my team still runs our mesmer.

Mesmers are upset because it’s a nerf to pve. For pvp it doesn’t really matter much, which begs the question what was the point?
It’s probably because nobody had left or joined your game, it just scrambles your team between the same players every match. Do you guys seriously think 10 games is a big enough pool to use statistically? It’s not.
Well if you will never see a mesmer ever in a long run, then it’s not working as intended :P Thing is that a profession should be balanced but still viable. If noone plays a profession that profession isn’t viable. If it was working as intended then there should be a mesmer here and there most of the time.
However, the nerf is probably good since most people only complained about phantasms, but mesmer is still a viable profession to play overall and still probably a must have on trebucher last tournament map. In a good shape, just make other professions viable trebuchers as well… boring to be the trebucher man all the time :P
To summarise: you will still see mesmers, and it’s a good thing. Perhaps they wont be everywhere but hopefully as represented as any other profession.
I haven’t had a chance to log in today yet and won’t until this evening, but from reading the patch-notes i can’t see anything there that would make people stop playing Mesmers at all in PvP. Some extra cool-down on some phantasms isn’t going to make that much difference at all.
However, i will predict that a lot more people will be trying out shatter specs after the changes and heaven help you when fighting more than one of those.
These were not significant nerfs. Only the Guardian and Thief really received what I’d consider a decent nerf.

Still see at least 1 mesmer, thief and guardian per tournament. I’m not sure how guardians were nerfed, but they have yet to fixed the underlying issue where it matters.
The Greatsword rework on the symbol being less prevalent to me was actually substantial in comparison to that of the cooldown changes to a Mesmer. This may be because I view the Phantasm Mesmer spec as inferior to that of the Shatter Mesmer build, however. Phantasm Mesmers share the same category of Heartseeker Spam and Hundred Blades, which is not being very viable unless your opponent is severely ill-equipped to handle the situation.

Don’t know where you’re playing, haven’t had a Mesmer free match in….er. Well, since the game launched. Every game has at least 3-5. Same with Thieves. God my entire team was Thieves this morning. Because that pistol whip “nerf” ( lawl ) did absolutely nothing. Much like the Mesmer “nerf”.
