I play a mesmer and just got hit by a war with 13 k eviscerate. I don’t mind the fact that it’s hard to avoid and it hits like a truck, what i do mind though is that it’s a class with more hp and more defence then me doing this damage. That’s a class with more condi removal and good mobility and what’s even more upsetting is that’s not even skillful playing. I don’t know how many of you play a mesmer but i can tell you that for a mesmer to output 13 k dps we have to go through a lot of trouble, while war has to switch to axe and press f1. I don’t even think any other class can have such a big burst.
I wish we had some dps meters to see just how pathetic all the other classes are compared to warriors. And if it’s not burst they do they have sustain like nobody else. Anyone managed to avoid longbow F1 so far while trying to defend a point ? The fact that the difference in power between classes is absurd and to the people saying if you think warriors are so strong why don’t you just play one i will say that i don’t want to play a game with only warriors and spirit rangers. 1 year and counting and balance is still nowhere to be found in gw2. I thought any class could do everything other classes can, but nothing can compare to warriors in any aspect of the game.

I don’t thieves can hit for 13k in PvP anymore. Maybe in WvW but def not PvP. Just wars.

Thieves hit for 20% less damage but can do it every 4 seconds and it cant be dodged.

3. Lol you seriously think thieves can BS every four seconds? Have you ever tried to set up a good BS combo? It takes much longer than that in combat, if only because of cast times (and usually that’s only a minor variable in comparison to the others).

I see you spam this thread but you have no arguments. All you do is troll. My post was about numbers and all you said so far is random garbage. Do you have any numbers to back up your claims or just useless comments ? My post was not about dodging skill or how well classes can avoid being damaged. It was about numbers.
If your one of those people that gets confused by the mesmer illusions and they make you waste your attacks then i can see how you might think mesmer has a better defence then warrior, but i am trying to talk here with people that actually know what they are speaking about.

I can go with my ele in full zerk gear and cast buffed Meteor Shower. Up to 10-12k crits from each meteor. AoE crits. Lot of meteors. Huge area. 1 button. Ranged.

P.S. And yes, you obviously have a L2P issue if you cannot dodge/invul/port from eviscerate, this is almost same thing as dying from 100b.

Thief says hi, your glass mesmer build is not viable cause I can telegib you from 3 miles away.

Seriously nobody runs builds that glassy(that isn’t thief) if they plan to win. I can make a build with 10k hp and 0 toughness and whine on the forums about dying to ranger auto attack but it doesn’t mean anything.

Yes, no other class has damage that high but every other class has skills that do comparable damage and are easier to hit with.

Wanna know what they all have in common? Mobility, range, AoE, area denial and of course non obvious animations. If a Warrior uses axe all you have to do is stay 301 range away from him and he will never hit you. The only ways he can possibly get close is by using his other weapon set as sword or greatsword. If he uses those he has no cc besides possibly using Bull’s Charge or Tremor mace off hand which both have obvious animations. So all you have to do is be ready to dodge when he switches to axe since sword and greatsword don’t do very good damage besides one or two skills. Sword doesn’t do much besides Final Thrust which has a 3/4 second cast time and he will only use it when you are at 50% hp or less. Greatsword does 0 damage unless you stand in Hundred Blades or the stars align and Rush hits a target.

A glass warrior that can hit that hard goes down like a sack of grain when it gets hit back.

He won’t have much more than 2k armor, unfortunately you just got caught with the big hit. The same as if your glass mesmer had hit him with your burst, well over 10k damage there on him had you landed it.

Yes, he has a bit more hp and a bit more armor than you, but probably won’t have much defense on his own. No point on defense traitline, Endure Pain at most.

Glass warrior are still one of the hardest things to play because have almost no room for defense and still have to take damage to their teeth.

Before the buff warrior used to deal even higher damage. And they were the laughing stock of GW2 pvp

And no, Hambow isn’t glass at all.

hmm I would suggest kiting as much as possible to avoid an evis mesmers have great access to cripple I think that will really help. It is sort of a hard fight if the warrior is good but I still think mesmer overall hard counters melee warriors. Make sure to use distortion at right times too. Good luck

Jump Shot: longest hang time in the air known to humanity, plus it still has a lower coefficient than the the level 2 and 3 Eviscerates (coef of 2.07).

Fire Grab: has an extremely long cast time and an insanely long CD, and it only does more damage than a level 2 Eviscerate if your opponent has burning on him/her (still does less than level 3). Also an extremely hard skill to land.

Backstab: really? Does less damage than a level 2 or level 3 Eviscerate.

Mind Wrack: not even close, even with three illusions (still far away if you have Illusionary Persona).

Illusionary Swordsman: phantasm has one of the most obvious cast times and animations in the game. Also attacks on a pattern. Still significantly less than a level 2 eviscerate.

Maul: are you kidding? Again, extremely obvious animation (massive bear in your face) and still is echelons below a level 2 eviscerate (in fact, it does less damage than a level 1 eviscerate).

Whirling Wrath: yeah, given that usually only three of the 9 projectiles hits your opponent (if you’re lucky) and has a long and obvious animation, don’t know where you’re pulling this out of.

Whirling Axe: unless you just stand in place, this isn’t going to do much damage to you. Even if you do stand in place, most of the attacks don’t hit you anyways.

Pry Bar: not even close, don’t even try.

Smite: really?

Zealot’s Defense: have you ever used this skill before?

Well of Suffering: just a small AoE pulse on a 1 sec interval… And it’s a utility w/ a much longer CD than Eviscerate.

Deathly Claws: it’s an elite skill… On an extremely long CD… That makes you the largest target in the game… That has an insanely large animation… Seriously?

Lava Font/Meteor Strike: just stop trying please.

Churning Earth: literally the most obvious cast in the game with an extremely predictable follow-up and strike time.

I can see the warrior players have a hard time understanding simple english. I will explain my post again and simplify it, maybe with more success.

All the posts about being outplayed and what not are irrelevant. I can be the biggest noob on the planet it does not matter. The fact is that war can press 1 button to get that damage out while other classes can’t. Even the next best thing, the backstab is harder to accomplish since you need positioning.
I understand for most of you it might be difficult to understand you play an easy class that’s to strong for the level of skill required, but there’s no need to start excusing your lack of skills with blaming others with lack of skill. If you will take your time and look on these forums for a bit, you will see every time people are complaining about a class to much it’s because it’s op not because it’s good the way it is but people are just unskilled. When you read the forums doesn’t it seem weird that most of the posts are complaining about warriors ?

A bit? I don’t really agree that warriors need to be ‘nerfed into the ground’ but you need to do some reading on the stats, 4000 HP between a warrior and a thief with the exact same build, and that isn’t even the worst, the Ele has 8000 HP less and has the lowest armor class. And they all deal at best equal damage.

It is completely laughable to say that the stat dichotomy in this game is currently balanced. The idea at launch was that squishier classes would have more defense in their abilities, but this has never been true for certain classes, the ele for example had defense in its utilities and healing in its weapon skills to balance out its stat drawbacks. And then it had every facet of its defense nerfed by nearly a third because they could stack those defensive abilities, and therein lies the impossible problem between balancing classes reliant on defensive abilities versus classes reliant on defensive stats. If you give them enough defensive abilities to have varying builds and methods of defense, they are going to stack them and it will be overpowered, if you don’t then they have nothing versus the inherent and ever-present defense of the stat-dependent classes.

No. Just a lot of players that are bad at pvp like any mesmer losing to a gc warrior getting encouraged by other complaint posts into believing they are not the reason they lost.

Warrior press -2 130 range skill ,nothing hapens
Mesmer press -2 invulnerable to any damage
Thief press -2 ,teleport to target,remove condi and immobilize

Should i go on ? You realize how stupid it is to compare only 1 skill?

Backstabb= go invis, get behind or on side, and backstab. Not telegraphed at all .

Eviscerate= build up adrenaline, use highly telegraphed easily dodgeable slow leap, hope it crits otherwise its useless.

Mesmer= daze, then immobilize then use phant to burst everything down while invincible, spam repeat. Turn target into Moa if you know you suck.
Soul= bad, learn to play stop making troll threads.

If you will take your time and look on these forums for a bit, you will see every time people are complaining about a class to much it’s because it’s op not because it’s good the way it is but people are just unskilled. When you read the forums doesn’t it seem weird that most of the posts are complaining about warriors ?

Backstabb= go invis, get behind or on side, and backstab. Not telegraphed at all .

Eviscerate= build up adrenaline, use highly telegraphed easily dodgeable slow leap, hope it crits otherwise its useless.

Mesmer= daze, then immobilize then use phant to burst everything down while invincible, spam repeat. Turn target into Moa if you know you suck.
Soul= bad, learn to play stop making troll threads.

esp since he tries to compare a combo against a single skill.

No. Just a lot of players that are bad at pvp like any mesmer losing to a gc warrior getting encouraged by other complaint posts into believing they are not the reason they lost.

Warrior press -2 130 range skill ,nothing hapens
Mesmer press -2 invulnerable to any damage
Thief press -2 ,teleport to target,remove condi and immobilize

Should i go on ? You realize how stupid it is to compare only 1 skill?

Lol? Are you really trying to compare the #2 skill with other #2 skills? That’s ridiculous lmao. I don’t understand how warriors think their classed is balanced right now. We’re not asking for a nerf to the ground like eles. We’re asking for a nerf to make it more balanced. I bet a lot of you were people asking for needs on other classes yet you can’t take one yourself and get EXTREMELY defensive about it and your only excuse is that they are bad. I see soooo many warriors in game its ridiculous along with necros. I took a screenshot the other day on a bunch of matches in a row on how many warriors there are because they are op atm. There’s usually 3-4 warriors on a team and/or 2 necros. Just saying. Take the suggestions for once, I know the necros are and have been saying they aren’t happy with the state their class is in right now but whenever a warrior thread goes up (and there are a lot) you all go berserk and start calling people names and saying they suck at the game. Why do you think there are so many threads? You’re getting a nerf, I mean if there isn’t one for you next patch then you can say I told you so but I extremely doubt that. Just accept it and help with the suggestions on where you think things should be and you might be able to put some input in rather than just saying no, everyone is just bad.
