So I’ve been visiting all the QQ-threads that have been created recently and so far this patch has brought us quite a few issues :

  • We have to pay transmutation charges every single time we want to change skins

-> If you want to avoid paying TC, you have to keep gear in your bags which may already be full with PvE gear. If you need to level-up one of your characters, you will need plenty of TC whenever you change gear. Gold/Gem sink incoming !

  • 8v8 Hotjoin has been removed

-> Many will rejoice, yet they could have limited the number of servers available, I find this to be quite a pity (making up for quality players with quantity was nice, at times)

  • You can’t see the spectators in the 5v5 Hotjoin games : you see 5/10 but since you don’t see the spectators, by the time you’re in the game it is full. GJ !
  • TDM is only available in Player owned Custom Arenas

-> What a joke ! basically the game mode is inacessible

  • You can’t see the ranks of your ennemies after a game anymore

-> You can’t spot newbies anymore, GJ !

  • The weaponset is the same in PvP and PvE so if you’re waiting to get into a tournament while in PvE, you might have to switch weapons.

-> Do I even need to say why this is very bad?

  • Runes will bring insane power creep : for instance Rune of the Nightmare will now fear 2s and all the % chances are now increased by a huge factor; Rune of the Nightmare was 5% chance, now it is 50% chance (the joke is here , more QQ here).
  • PvP and PvE share builds

->if you want to go PvE or WvW after having played PvP, you need to rebuild. Enjoy !

  • You can’t create a character and play it in PvP immediately while having all the gear you want. Though it is true you only need chests, legs and boots to have all the toughness you could get from an armor, you need to get to level 10 to get head and shoulder armor. Before that level, you can’t get those pieces of cosmetic equipement.

To quote Justin Odell

You will only be missing some cosmetic only gear, this should not be a barrier to entry in any way.

Since GW2 PvP has always been all about cosmetic, this is a huge joke.

  • Grind in PvP : – You need to spend 3gold + 20skill points for each new GM trait, that’s 15g + 100SP per clas

- New sigils =6g, new amulets=20g, new rune=5g -> 31g

-> you need quite a large amount of gold that is hard to get by PvP-ing only (if you want to create another character to pvp only, you’ll have to unlock the traits all over again !)

The two changes I just mentioned are in complete contradiction with what ArenaNet used to promote and it’s a shame. If you want proof, here it is :

The addition of new skills and traits on a regular basis will of course mean expanded variety of abilities, builds, and tactics in PvP as well. As these additional skills and traits are added, they’ll be automatically unlocked and available for competitive PvP just like all existing skills/traits work today.

A few more personal complaints :

  • There will be PvE players with legendary skins in PvP, good luck spotting the animations.
  • Dragon finisher is lack-luster, to say the least
  • You can pvp using outfits (example : pirate)

-> Nice ! You can’t tell heavy armor from anything else, you can create an entire team of 5 characters that look exactly the same.

Only thing i’m kittened about is that my PVP gear got taken away, and I HAVE to pay to get them back (lets do the math, armor set = 6 pieces + weapons = 4. 6 + 4 equals 10, though we got a few TC for free, it’s not even enough to regear ONE character)
and your PVP weapons don’t have a designed place in a Hero’s PVP pannel (like we had before patch), so if you do both PVP and PVE on one character, you’ll have your PVP items take places in your inventory while you’re doing PVE and other side works too, this will be quite annoying…

runes, sigils, etc. aren’t showing while in a pvp match… seem to be working though it is weird to see… really weird.
