So, shoot me for asking an obvious question, but is this even possible this late into the year? I’ve been grinding the points for the Legendary Back Piece (I saw it and instantly started grinding as hard as I could, no pelvis left), but then noticed that I have a 15 day lockdown for each level of the achievement. Considering it’s already almost the end of the year, are these achievements even viable to achieve?

I guess that’s two things in one week that I’m disappointed in myself for not realizing sooner… -sigh- Life sucks…

i think this backpiece is here to stay, same with WvW and pve fractal backpiece. You see same patterns across all gamemodes, pve raids had their legendary armor, now spvp and WvW get theirs. THis is the endgame content and way of aquiring legendary gear, in the end any endgame player want to deck out all slots with legendary gear, unless you are fine with 1 2 3 ascended sets. At worst you problably have to wait another one or two season, depending on how hard you grind. I finished most of my backpiece in season1 but then I quit, I returned and finished it during this season.

have they changed anything, like i said above i finished almost all achis during season 1 tho i did hit legendary, and after returning now im done

You need to play 3 matches a day, for 15 days, and that 4 times. So 60 days total. A season takes about 8 weeks, that’s 56 days, if we ignore the first and last day it’s 54 days. So clearly not enough, you need at least 2 seasons (but you will need to play A LOT to get it in 2 seasons, since you also need a lot of wins).

But you should know, we’re on season 8 now, and they added it in season 1 (start of last year), with the idea of adding a new legendary backpack every year. They didn’t do that, and instead decided to just keep this one.

ANet has stated that they want a shorter gap between two seasons, so it is possible that season 9 starts end of october or beginning of november, in which case you could still get it this year.

Don’t worry though, they’ve said it will still be obtainable no matter what, so you don’t have to fear on missing out.

Oh thank god, I thought I misunderstood with the in game text saying “This years precursors”, and then realizing that I only have about 3 months left to complete them all, each with a 15 day lockout. I would have cried, lol. (I already missed out on the Merciless skins without any warning…).

It can be done. I started last season, got through to Part III of Ascension with only a handful of matches and 1 day to go when it ended. Now I’m on the last stretch and will surely finish before the end of it in October. The daily participation achievement carries over, so if you finish days before your matches (45 as was my case in Part III) your daily contribution will go to Part IV even if still stuck on matches or achievements. Try to commit to at least your daily 3 matches like I have and you should be done within 2 seasons.
