So I decided to conduct this little experiment in solo arena since they will reset the leaderboards anyway so I queued up for 20 games in the last 3 days. I queued up at different times of the day and sometimes requeued instantly after a game ended and sometimes I waited anything from 1 min to 10 minutes randomly. Here’s the results.
Map:
> Skyhammer: 4
> Battle of Khylo: 9
> Forest of Niflhel: 0
> Spirit Watch: 1
> Legacy of the Foefire: 6
Conclusion: pretty random there, I didn’t get a single game on Niflhel and only 1 on Spirit Watch (thank god). In my opinion Solo Queue is a bad joke when you get Skyhammer. The map should be a minigame rather than a proper PvP map. The Crab grabbing arena had more balance and competitiveness than this map.

Team numbers:
Out of 20 games only 6 were a complete 5v5 from beginning to end. There were 7 5v4’s for the whole duration. There was 1 4v4 for the whole duration. The rest of the games had recurring disconnects throughout.

Team compositions:
Out of 20 games I probably met a pool of no larger than 30 players.
100% of teams that had an engi necro duo won. (This is 12/12 games)
50% of teams that had double warrior won. (4/8 games)
No teams with an ele won a game. (0/4)
8 out of 12 thieves I met ran d/p rather than s/d.
I met 4 mesmers throughout. 2 of those times the team with the mesmer won. (I played 7 games with at least 1 mesmer in it though)
Conclusion: condition meta is still insanely strong especially in the EU. A team with a proper necro will most likely win as AoE condition spread is way too good against teams that can’t chain condition cleanse properly. Mesmers are hard to utilise in solo queues. Thieves don’t even run the build that’s supposed to be “meta”.

Outcomes:
I lost 9 of 20 games.
Out of 9 lost games 4 were due to uneven matchup, e.g.: disconnects or 4v5.
In the 5 games even (or 5v5 from start rather) games we lost:
4 times there was a guy who kept running to far solo and losing the 1v1.
1 was a really close match and we lost in a very clutch 3v3 fight where it all went down to 1 stomp which we couldn’t get.

Overall conclusion: That last match I mentioned was the only 1 I actually enjoyed… out of 20 games – 1 game of a quality that I would call competitive pug-tournament play. 19 out of 20 games were stressful, too easy, ridiculous or were lost because of 1 person’s misconcept of the winning strategy.

All games were played on the same account and on EU server. I may make another one if I get my nerves together again using my other account that’s much lower ranked.

The time you queue during the day affects your game quality alot. Even the time of week and month.

Worst time to queue is first day of the month because of resets. PVE people flood in to do their monthly. Off peak hours are very inconsistent, very unlikely to get a even match up. Best during primetime. Friday night or weekends tend to get slightly better matchups because of increased population.

So if you want to climb the ladder then you gotta strategically plan your play times, but bleh thats too much work I just want to play =]

I think it’ because I lost the last 4 games I played and scoreboard updates once every hour. Anyways I’m not rank 4xx anymore then who cares I won’t play this game mode anyway as it’s not fun for me.
