25 skill points for the new heals
They don’t want everyone rerolling into mesmers so easily
If you play necro you will be fine, no need to wast 25 skill points on that crap… (I regret buying it)

Why is the pvp cost even there? Isn’t the idea to make pvp accessible? Why is it different now? Wasn’t one of the core features to be fully unlocked and on a level playing field when entering pvp?

If you have 8 lvl 2’s than all 8 skills will cost you 300k glory and 40g.

Just loged in today to see this. First response was WAT. Considering gw2 spvp unique selling point was that pvp is ment to be skill based and having all skills instanly unlocked.
I guess PVE brings in more income, so much greed.

To this extent it creates a type of horizontal progression for new (and some old) pvp players to strive for, as they’ll be able to get a couple of new abilities for themself. However the Core skills are all fine of their own accord, so you are still competitive without the current 25, at least for current meta.

except in gw1 the skill-unlocks where account-bound. and after a certain time the starter/ core skills wherent viable anymore. u dont know the future and how much new skills come and how the meta evolves. so all this does is destroy the competive part of the game and open a way for monetisation like in gw1.

It is desperate to get people to like it.
Even when it throws literally every way of playing the game at people, every possible spec, most people won’t find anything they like.
GW2 PvP is extremely ungratifying.
Badly made skills that aren’t even account bound in which you have to spend ridiculous amounts of time to get won’t change any of that.
If anything, it just makes the game a wee bit worse.

Woudl you prefer lol concept of having to buy heroes, or dota 2 that has everything unlocked. I just smell insane greed, trying to milk cash from pvp. There is absolutely no reason to lock skills in pvp, and it goes against their own ideas to level the playing field.

I would love the concept of them keeping to the pvp standard of the game. Which is all abilities are available. I’m not trying to act like a fool, but I have way too many characters (slots I bought just for pvp) to now have to go and get 25 skill points for each character to unlock a skill.

nah seriously tho this is stupid. This will get pve players to try pvp, but is detrimental to getting new pvp interested players into the game itself..if they ever did.

The population is too low. I’ve been looking at other games even more than I have been on this game.
So where is our level bar for easy leveling 1-80?
Dumb idea, but what else is new in PvP?
And to think sPvP was supposed to be the one place where everyone was equal and didn’t have to grind to unlock anything. I guess things change.
I can’t wait till the one day sPvP players have to get As gear to be BiS too.
As a mesmer main I was kind of forced to running around chasing skill points today as the new skill is a lot better. 25 takes quite a time to gather, got bored rather quickly and wanted to pvp so I don’t have them all yet.
I thought the whole point of pvp was to jump in and have everything ready.
I realize this alone isn’t that big, I will get those 25 points eventually, but who knows what next? A-net has now broken their promise in that pvp should be a even playing field.
Quite disappointing.

wait what… I have to PvE now in order to sPvP? When I bought GW2 the day it came out I clicked that Go to the Heart of the Mists button and never looked back… why is this changing? WHY?! rage! qq boooooo!!
