Necromancer Scepter, to be exact.

It’s rough at the edges and patch is best time we’ll get to fix it. We had discussions about it on Necromancer subforum, but here’s my personal opinion:

Auto-attack – Slightly increase the duration of Poison, add 1 bleed to Putrid Curse if target suffers from Torment.

Grasping Dead – Replace 2(3) stacks of Bleeding with Torment. This skill isn’t rewarding enough.

Feast of Corruption – Weird attempt at bringing purely Power skill into Condi weaponset. Get rid of damage modifiers by condition.

- Increase Life Force gain per condition by 1%,
- Now applies Weakness (1s) and restores 10 endurance per each unique condition.

Post more or less for players who have some experience as Condition Necromancer and for Devs.

If you don’t have your own opinion or want to mention “Dhuumfire meta”, don’t bother posting.

Thank you,
Rym

I’d agree with some of this. Necromancer’s base bleeds were nerfed pretty heavily after Arenanet implemented Dhuumfire, and then they nerfed Dhuumfire into the ground without ever changing the bleeds back.

Feast of Corruption granting endurance back would be cool, I don’t know if it needs more life force gain though. Torment on Grasping dead would be cool.

Currently however, it’s basically impossible to know how conditions are going to pan out after the upcoming changes go through. They could be entirely dominant or completely nonviable depending on how Arenanet tweaks the scaling.

I feel like conditions have been mishandled to a large degree in this game. There should be less spammable clear, but autoattacks should also not be able to spam conditions. There should be more 2-5 skills that deal heavy condition damage and limited clear to counterplay those if you miss a dodge.

Well, I always thought that DoTs should be DoTs, not burst.

And that Conditions should in general be more about steady pressure, but idk what Arena Net thinks.

Thread is more of a reminder “Hey, don’t forget about this!”. And about bringing up the issue with Feast of Corruptions being big elephant in the room for weaponset.

Now is not the time to consider buffing any condi weapon imo, let the update hit and let us see if anything needs changed afterwards.

Yeah, my issue with the weapon is that it always felt too slow to really do anything. I felt like I mostly just used staff marks and fear spam to do anything. I think the single target condition pressure of the scepter is just a bit to low to really be considered pressure, and overall its just clunky to use.

Compared to the mesmer scepter, which also has a clunky auto, it just pales a bit in comparison, since mesmer scepter just has so much more pressure through torment alone.

So yeah, I’d totally support necromancer scepter buffs, then maybe we can see the condimancer niche in the pvp meta return a bit, but that sort of depends more on shoutbows place in the meta tbh.

I’m always fine with this when it comes to thief but necro mmm it seems irony and fear are attached to the class so no?

The current FoC might be useful after the patch. Although I think increasing it’s lf gain is a good idea.
