TY for the awesome match ups tonight. I lost 5 points and 200’ish ranks in one night from absolutely horrid match ups. Whatever “adjusting” was done, it seems to really have screwed Solo Q’ers. Nothing but blowout after blowout. My last match was 502/69. So I ended it on a win.

I haven’t had a problem winning and matches haven’t been blow outs. What class do you play?

My matches are pretty good right now. Have a lot of fun and lost 1 fight with 496:500 and won a fight with 500:498.

Sometimes I win or lose with a big gap but mostly on Legacy of the Foefire. On this map real close games are sometimes 500:2xx because the mid could not be retaken or the lord was killed.

I love how every time people complain about having a terrible streak of matchmaking and being placed in 20 bad matches in a row, some people’s first response is always “well, it must be something you’re doing wrong”.

No, the game just freaking DOES this. I think it more frequently does it to people who have a middling MMR to begin with. You’ll think you’re doing fine and get paired with a bunch of matches where you can hold your own, then suddenly it’s like the game decides it no longer wants to be your friend, and just throws you in the middle of teams with people WAY over your head. I went from establishing a week of ranked leaderboard progress at around 50% to just going something like 3-20 in a single weekend. That wasn’t me forgetting how to play, that’s the game not knowing how to put together a match. And usually it corresponds with testing on the part of ANET that they thought they could only do without telling anyone.

ANET, seriously, it makes me stop wanting to play your game mode. If you want to test mmr changes, warn people so they know not to waste their weekend trying to fix a losing streak that is nonstop frustration.

I didn’t say he was doing anything wrong. There are certain classes that are more prone to losing streaks than other classes in the meta. Also I think there are a couple maps (Temple and Foefire) that lead to blowouts happening. If you manage to grab top buff consistently on Temple and your team has the capability of winning team fights and controlling two points it’s off to the races. Foefire also has it’s snowbally factor to it.

I haven’t played enough games to really get a gauge of what matches will cause me to lose points but IF people are telling the truth where are they losing points when they are completely blown out? I seems there must be something wrong with the odds to win if the team favoured to win are being smashed.

How many points should you lose in a night? Should you always be neutral or positive after a bunch of games? This isn’t meant as a defense of the matching or the leaderboard or an attack of the op it’s just that to say things like that doesn’t make any kind of real argument. Yes, there will be nights where you lose -5 points even if the system was way better then it is currently that doesn’t mean anything.

I think the problem is if someone gets -5 points in one night that they lost 5 matches they were supposed to win with the win prediction algorithm. If the favoured team loses that frequently something seems off with the formula they use or something is off with the match making.

yup that sums it up.

edit: if they want to go stright up +1 -1 on win loss that’s fine with me just be truthful about it.
