50% of Hotjoins are "rank farming"
Ok this is getting a little obnoxious.
It’s hard enough to find a open hotjoin game where you can start playing right away instead of being forced into observer mode.
But then you realize that all of the remaining servers have some sort of “special ruleset” mostly based on some sort of “rank farming”. Join them and start fighting, only to suffer verbal abuse of some kind.
It’s pretty stupid and I can’t remember the last time I had a “normal” hotjoin game.
I guess that’s just anther reason why all the noobs moved to teamQ. Can’t really fault them for that.
But that isn’t much fun either. I had SoloQed my way up to about rank 500 in teamQ prior to the patch and since then have about an 80% loss rate. It’s really frustrating.
The best way to win games is, learn other classes. I SoloQ a lot, I play every single class except Engineer, and that’s from a professional view. If you can master more than one class, then you should start winning. I’d recommend master Gurdian first, as you can reroll that class if your team does not have one.

So, you “Join Now” makes you enter a Custom Arena, from which a big part are “Rank-farm Arenas”.
Because the overload of Hot Join, players who wouldn’t usally play on Solo and TeamQ start playing there, without having proper experience.
I think, ANet rly needs to react quick and increase the amount of Hot Join Servers. There are so many new players, that a lot of them get pushed into some 10 vs. 10 custom zerg arenas, where you don’t learn anything.

if id work for anet id probly lower the daily limit you can get through reward chests for quite a bit ( 5-15 ) .
to drag the players to tournament pvp
sure more noobs in the tournaments but the other teams will have noobs too..
80 loss ratio in team que well yeah it sucks starting alone in teamq get together with noobs and then a premade team (ideal with voice chat) to fight against…
then go solo q!!!
soloq is fair in that regard
(sure a few matches are favored for the on team other for the other team but because there is so much randomed who will be in which team its fair overall even if only 50% of the matches need to be played since the others are decided pretty quickly…which is good since that means god guys win faster newer players see that the loose more often than win and ask themselve why and will improve…at some point in the future…hopefully)
But SoloQ features Skyhammer, Spiritwatch and far more 5 vs. 4.
so?! I’m kind of enjoying it xD when I’m not in arenas I go to hotjoins and wile playing the squishiest profession in game I manage to outlast 2 Warriors and Stomp them in the face xD

I still would like to see hotjoin removed completely. I’d much rather have an unranked team queue (which can join as a solo) and the custom arenas that allow whatever rules people want.

Those 10v10 servers you’re talking about are weird scary places…
