8 vs 8 spvp
Make it 9v9 and no more balance needed with class stacking banned.
Gw2 maps arent really big enough for 8v8. We already tried it and they scaled it back to 5v5. Stronghold is the only map/mode that would truly shine 8v8, two lanes spread 5v5 too thin. Maybe the unicorn or whatever the map is called.
Sound nice and all on paper. Until you come to terms with the fact. That the current PvP population in GW2 is just sooo small. That it can’t even support 5v5 without decreasing match quality till near unplayable levels. At this point I doubt a 4v4 mode would be able to support quality matches, with how few PvPers are left still playing. I do not count PvEers who just spam matches for easy PvE rewards, that also don’t care or try to win PvP matches.
3v3 IMHO maybe able to provide quality matches. Enoth to re-spark the PvP community in GW2. After that then 5v5 may be able to be legitimately revisited.
A 8v8 mode in GW2 at this stage. Would more then likely do more harm then good.
But at least I admit it!
PoF guys get ready for PvE joys

This is all that needs to be said. We need more players before even considering a gamemode that require more than 10 people. I already see the same people as it is. This is another reason why I want solo & team queue to be seperated
I make PvP & WvW videos
From what I’ve expericence in the newly-abandoned map game mode STRONGHOLD. It should’ve been a GvG or 8v8 map instead.
my favourite time in pvp was just after release when it was 8v8 and there wasn’t really a meta yet
i do miss the 8v8!
I don’t understand the argument “current population cant support this”. custom arenas certainly can. even though there are only 1 or 2 servers active most times, every time I join one there are tons of people sitting in spectator. some maps can support 8v8 others cant.
having some variance to how the game is played is a great way to keep people interested, and could bring some more specs that aren’t used often into the light.
