but a guildy of mine has 33% rank with a 14/9 win loss.
Can somebody explain why the player with more wins has a lower rank on the leaderboard?

Because not every win gives the same matchmaking value increase…

It’s telling you that the wins your guildy achieved were against much higher rated players, and launched him farther up the leaderboards.

If your guildmate hasn’t played a while, he will have had a lot of degeneration to his leaderboard rank.

As Chaith told you, your position in the ladder is calculated based on a rating that isn’t a direct mapping to your w/l ratio. Here’s the algorithm.

haha, thats a bit more complicated then i expected.
had to read that article 3 times to understand less then half of it.

Once upon a time i used to have decent ELO rating for Magic the gathering (Constructed format). i stopped playing but 3 years later i was still entitled to a first round bye at an GP.

Kudo’s to the people for choosing a system that actually takes time into account.

now i wonder whats the rating period for pvp?
is it a day?
