Hello People.
I am thinking about establishing a 8v8 league for EU GvG.
This league would be structured just like any football or sports league and would have weekly fixtures, This is something that is impossible to do with anything other than 10v10 or Smaller Sized GvG because of the way that GW2 WvW Matchups Work.
There would be 1 match for each team every week. Once every guild has fought eacother twice the League will end and the top team will win the prize pool.
If there is enough interest, i will pay to make a website and create a league table and a sign up sheet for the leauge. I Will Also start a prize pool for the top guild at the end of the League.
There will be rules to the 10v10 Gamemode, all of which can be discussed by leaders of guilds who are interested . I Will set up a date to talk about the rules on teamspeak.
Since this would be a competition to take place in one of the PvP Maps, i will also need to have some kind of meeting with guild leaders to discuss which part of the PvP maps is best suited to GvGing.
I am looking for at least 8 guilds before i start doing this, I Will leave the sign up open for a week before i close it.

The problem with 10v10 in a spvp server is that it lags like kitten cause the servers aren’t good enough to handle such numbers.

Tried this type of stuff before on foefire, did some scrims against deso guilds with VnT and wasn’t too bad at all.
If 10v10 is tested out to be super laggy, maybe 8v8 is an option?
Never had problems with 8v8 in pvp before

Remember, if you do 10v10, then you’re not able to have 1 spectator. Max pop in servers is 20

First of all, you cant make 10v10 coz theres not gonna be a spot for at least 1 guy to spectate.
Second of all, theres no space in the spvp maps to get all these players and put them into actual environement for GvG.
Third – why would u make ANOTHER unofficial ladder when there was alrdy so many of these for GvG?

The time where GvG was actual thing and sooooo many were perticipating and practicing and thinking about this mode is loooong gone.

Nobody cares about a mode that wasnt and will never be supported by Anet or even announcing UNofficial winners of some imaginary ladder of whats left of the guilds that were worth fighting back in the days.

To be honest, you all are raising some pretty good points but i still think this is a good idea.

8v8 Would be a much better format considering what doiid said about the lag, and the fact that a spectator for streaming would be good.

I still think that there is a GvG scene, i just think its ruined by the fact that there is no way of running a competitive one with the way that matchups work.

As for the mention about pvp maps and there not being enough space for it, foefire has enough space for an 8v8 in at least 3 different places.

As for the unofficial ladders, they are all terrible because there is no structure to it. An imaginary rating on a leaderboard means nothing, placing your guild in a league that is structured actually means a hell of a lot more.
