A Journey to find FUN
This is the problem I hear mostly come up in the game in all communities I’m involved with and on the forums.
People don’t have fun anymore. They had a blast for few days/weeks, but it is gone.I personally want this game to be good and I want to play it.
I just can’t find a single reason to PvP.
There are no real rewards that could push me into playing.
I don’t find Conquest fun.
I don’t find my Necro fun anymore.
Other professions are either too easy and simple (hello warrior) or just insult my taste (hello mesmer).
Maps like Forest and Legacy being ultimately boring and Capricorn being just wrong don’t help either.
Seeing the same builds all around is the final nail…I had a blast for years playing GW1.
Can someone tell me what to do to have fun in this PvP? What am I doing wrong?
Let’s help each other. Dev’s are welcome to share their experiences.
How do you post a “I’m bored” post in the image of a “let’s help each other” format? You’re just bored. Play something else for a while, go outside and throw a ball or something. It’s just a game.
We always love the stuff we ‘used’ to do. I remember old NES games and how great games used to be. But I never play NES games anymore. Go figure.
It is the same problem I am having. All the specs I thought would be fun are either bugged, nerfed or just never worked in the first place. I usually play CC pvp, meaning I prefer to snare, distract, debuff and just drive the other guy crazy. Other people like support or healing. However it seems like our only options are conditions or crits. Conditions being basically a crappy dot that you can stack numerous times. The maps are more like small areas, maps would indicate you need a map, you don’t need a map for these tiny areas, they are all one dimensional zergfests, they could have done so much more with the maps but they were so obsessed with making it an Esport they forgot most average players want to actually have fun on pvp maps. WvW is much of the same, just a larger zerg. I was like you it was ok the first month until your mind gets around the fact that every class is using the same kind of spec running in zerg circles trying to spam instagib one button abilities at the other side whilst stacking as many conditions as possible.
Its a theory crafters nightmare and not because their are too many options.
How come I wasn’t bored with GW1 or LoL even though I’ve been playing these games for multiple straight months while a single month was enough to wear GW2 interest off?
Go figure…

There’s not enough complexity in sPvP to explore as LoL does because GW2 focused to much on PvE.
I’m not going to totally ditch this game after only about 2 months. I’ll play it along side LoL and see how far gw2 pvp comes in about a year.
Necro is extreamly boring unresponsive slow class. I would say ditch the necro take a break for a week or two chose another class like the Mesmer or Gaurdian, ele or eng if up for a challange.
