I recently recorded a few PvP matches because of a different thread topic in this zone of the forum. The same video has been posted there for the relevance to that topic. But at the same time, this video displays a massive lesson to those who decide to go AFK, or ‘rage’ because they believe that you are going to lose. Usually this happens after the said grumpy person loses their first fight, but also it happens quite into a match when the score can seem so dire that nothing can save you.
Regardless as to whether that is true, I believe you should always keep fighting, keep pressing and play ’til the end, win or lose: and, this shows… you might just win!
Apologies for the poor quality… old pc, not made for gaming blah blah… don’t wish to keep repeating myself!
Solid advice and definitely a great comeback.
And really, games where you’re at a big disadvantage are really valuable, even if you don’t edge out a big comeback.
I guarantee you that you’ll learn more from games you lose than from games you win. If you take bad situations as a learning opportunity, you’re not only more likely to change a game to a win after a rough start, but you’re also more likely to log off the computer and feel like you had an enjoyable experience.
I mean, after all, you paid money for this game. You get a lot more bang from your buck when you can adapt yourself to enjoy the challenges it provides instead of letting it become the reason for your bad day.
And really, good players are good players because they play well. Winning is just the side effect. If you want to play well, focus on you, not the score.

+1 Good advice
Ive been in countless matches since i started playing this game where we were losing with maybe a 0.01% chance of a comeback but its always better to keep playing than AFK’ing since i can always learn more even if its just another fight 1v1, 2v2 or whatever before game ends.
holy hell are u playing gw2 in 8bit?
@Celine…, i agree with you and thx for the vid
in my opinion pvp devs should change pip gain/lose in a way where a losing team doesnt lose any pips, if they reached 400+ pts in a game to encourage players to play the game instead of raging and afking

I have seen this be suggested many times but I just do not see how it would stop anyone giving up on a game- if someone is so convinced that their team has zero chance of reaching 500 points that they stop playing, why would they believe their team could reach 400 points? If a team is 350-200 down for example, someone might say something like ‘noob team, I am afk’ because they do not think they have any chance of winning. I honestly do not see how not taking pips away from a team if they reach 400 points would turn that comment into something like ‘We won’t win, but let’s try to reach 400 points’. I understand why it would work for your average player just to give them more morale so they keep trying, but for the kind of people who afk this would not change anything.
As for the OP, that was a really nice comeback. It always feels great to make a huge comeback and having it go down to a boss kill at the end would have made victory feel all the better. My favourite comeback I have done was when I won from 280-480 down. The comeback you did should really convince people who give up on games when 100 points down that it is never over until your opponent reaches 500 points, which is something I have always believed. I enjoyed the video.

This is absolutely 100% fantastic advice and I agree with you wholeheartedly. Thank you for your comments.
In respect of what devs could do to stop AFKers or lame quitters, I don’t think there’s an answer. It’s just purely bad sportsmanship and is very sad. We had a match the other night where, just because a thief ran far on Khylo and got pretty much instantly killed, he started calling us very very rude names and said he was going AFK. I encouraged my husband and the team to not bite to his nonsense and to try and encourage him through to keep playing. He half-heartedly played the entire match and we only lost by around 50 points. If he hadn’t have had such a bad tantrum, we would’ve won. It drives me nuts.

LMAO, no, my hubby says it’s 16bit :P LOL.
@suffish…, my suggestion will not stop anyone who is going to rage and afk, my suggestion encourages players to not stop to play the game, just becouse there is no reason atm to continue to play (if youre playing only for pips), if your team is going to lose anyway and atm everyone loses a pip for a lose, no matter how much pts your team made, but if there would be a pts treshhold, where you dont lose any pips there would be a reason (except if you play for enjoyment) to continue to play
